Hello diva11,

Try to schedule one appointment at a time for the same date. If that does not work, schedule them for separate dates and then use the "request emergency appointment" feature on the CGI website. You can explain the situation in the space provided. It will be forwarded to the correct office and we can try to take care of it on our end. If you haven't heard back from us in 2-3 working days from the date of your emergency request, please email LagosNIV@state.gov. If your application will need to be in administrative processing for a significant period of time, eg for more than a week, we will probably give it back to your for safekeeping. Please keep in mind that we will need 2-3 working days to print your visa and deliver it to a DHL location within Lagos (and longer for DHLs outside of Lagos).

Hello USMissionNGRA,

Thank you for your reply, I have paid for both visa applications. However, I am unable to schedule for two Visa applications at the same time.
Does this mean that I have to schedule for both one after the other?

Also, when my application is under Administrative processing, does my passport remain with me for submission after administrative processing?

Dear Consular,

I have my 221G appointment rescheduled downward (by 1month) my passport is barely 2 months to expire now, I rushed for paaaport renewal immediately i got mail of my rescheduled appointment but am yet to be re-issued by NIS (reason: lack paper to print out passport).

Please advise, can i come for the interview with my nearly expire Nigerian passport and evidence of my passport renew process? Or do i need to take any further action before my interview date.

Please treat as urgent. Thank you

Hello Profitboss,

You can present your current Nigerian passport. If the visa is issued, we can either put the visa in that passport (which means you will need to travel with both passports for the length of the visa validity) or we can wait until your new passport arrives.

Hi USMissionNGRA,

Thanks again for your reply, the CGI website only allows scheduling for one visa appointment at at time. It seems like the unique identifier for every application is the applicant's passport number. Due to the fact that I am applying with the same passport, I am unable to proceed in my application to book a second appointment.

Is it okay to schedule for one ( the F1 visa) and use the emergency request as suggested?
If there is an option to upload a document, should I upload the evidence of payment for the B1/B2 visa fee?

Hello everyone, I will to ask some questions here regarding non-migrant visa, pls I will appreciate your replies.
5yrs ago, I applied for a b1/b2 visa at the US embassy, I was a car dealer at the time and I stated same. During the interview, I was asked to present the bill of laden which I stated was not with me at the time. The visa was denied.
Knowing why I was denied, I booked another interview within two months and I presented the bill of laden. First the vo asked if I knew why I was denied the first tome and I stated that it was because I was without my bill of laden. She asked if I was with it and I said yes. Shortly after, she left her sit and liase with the woman that denied me the first time. When she returned, she collected all the documents and took them inside for about 5-10mins. When she returned she asked what position I held in the company and I told her I was the chairman, and she said “you’re the chairman and you have never traveled before”? I stated that I had visited MALAYSIA and South Africa, she didn’t listen but denied the visa.
Fast forward to 2018, I applied together with my wife, the VO asked all her questions about her job, my job and where we would like to visit. We answered all these and she asked if my wife was pregnant and we answered in the affirmative. She asked if we would like to give birth in the US and we replied NO. Then she said in case you’ll like to give birth in the US, get a dr and all the rest I wasn’t even listening, and she stated we were not eligible at that time.
We(me, wife and son) have another interview scheduled for later this year, and here is my concern, I have another company now which started less than a year ago and this is what I intend to fill in my Dstv-160, should I be concerned that I was a chairman of a company in 2015(the company folded to to new policy on car importation), 2018 a director in another company (still a director in that company though) but now presenting another new company(Enterprise) during the interview? Or should I maintain the previous company used during my last interview?

Hi diva11,

Yes, please do try to use the emergency request and upload the document. We will have someone be on the lookout for it.

Thank you very much. I am sorry I seem like I am bothering you by making you restate what you have explained earlier. I sent an email to LagosNIV@state.gov not too long before I discovered this thread and I just received a response with respect to being interviewed for both visas and I think it is conflicting with the response i received from you.

Here's what I received

. You can mention the B1/B2 interview, but you cannot interview for a separate visa class unless you have an appointment for that visa class. The B1/B2 will need to be adjudicated separately during the scheduled B1/B2 appointment.

I wouldn't matter if I use the emergency request to apply for the second Visa?

Hi USMissionNGRA,

Thanks for your previous response,

in the Present Work/Education/Training Information section, i tried filling an information about an educational programme i am running here in nigeria but the site is not accepting the "date of attendance to" as i am yet to round up.
i wish to declare this during my interview, now that the site is not accepting the date i am expected to round up, i will have to remove it eventually.

my question is this; wont this look like i am lying for not listing it on my form even though it is the site that was not accepting dates later than the date the form is being filled.

Hello,

I applied to renew my visa via drop box to give birth. A 221g letter was sent to me.I scheduled for an interview. Unfortunately before the interview, i lost the pregnancy. I went for a rescheduled interview months after and explained everything to the VO and she said if i am pregnant and have to give birth in USA, I should declare at the POE and have enough cash to pay my bills.

Now i am going for holiday with the VISA, I hope I wont have any issues at the POE.

Please note i am not pregnant at the moment.

Diva11,

The response is correct in that you do need a separate application; however, the person who is responsible for releasing emergency appointments is aware of your situation and will try to accommodate you if possible. Please use the "request emergency appointment" feature, and if you have any problems with that, you can write back here.

Hello teeshawt,

You can use the date that you filling out the application (e.g. if you finish filling out the application on April 10, you can write that the program's end date is April 10), or you can leave it blank (if it will allow you to do that). If it comes up in your interview, you can explain that you are still doing that work but that the application forced you to pick an end date that was not in the future.

Hi USMissionNGRA,

I want to change my interview location to Abuja... After I have chosen Lagos..

How do I do that after I have submitted my ds 160 form and filled the new application/schedule appointment to the point of entering the receipt number

Modified

I've been able to change my interview location to Abuja... So I am still leaving the question I asked up there for you to answer so people who might be in my shoes later on can learn from it...

My newest question now is this: having successfully change my interview location to Abuja, I still have the location I chose in my submitted ds 160 form to be Lagos center.

1. Do I need to modify the form as I have picked Abuja center. If yes does that mean I am filling another ds 160 form

2. The confirmation number on ds 160 form is what I have in my visa appointment... Can I still print the bar code confirmation page without modification for use in Abuja as I believe there should be a way to cross check data submitted within a geographical location without hassle.

3. While I chose Lagos center, there was option to tick B2 visa only, but not in Abuja center as there were only B1 and B1/B2 available so I opt for B1/B2...hope it is nothing to worry about

In all please advise on what to do so there can be correlation between the lagos location I chosed when filling ds 160 form and Abuja interview location.

Best Regards.

Hello USMissionNGRA,

Thank you so much for your responses and help with getting both appointments on the same day. I have received a response that my emergency request has been approved and that I can reschedule my appointment. Is it necessary for me reschedule? Or can I stick to the initial date I already selected for my appointment?

On the day of my appointment will I be interviewed by separate Visa officials? If it is the same Visa official would he/she know that I have two appointments on the same day or I will have to mention it before the interview.

If one was banned on the ground that he submitted a fake bank statement, What if the bank statements were actually genuine with concrete proof backing his claim.

What can he/she do to rectify the above situation?

Awaiting your kind response

Thank you @USMissionNGRA, it is actually impossible to schedule for two visa applications at the same time with one or different CGI profiles. So I still have just one appointment date and an approved emergency request. I have no confirmation that the second visa's appointment date will be the same as the first. I guess this is starting to become a headache I will probably try to find extra time off work to go for the second visa interview if this does not pan out.

Thank you so much for all your assistance. If on my appointment date I get to be interviewed for both visas, I will provide feedback here.

Hello USMissionNGRA,

I recently submitted my family application for NIV and its spent 24 business (34) days with the Embassy which is still less than the statutory 30 business days required for my NIV Interview waiver application. Unfortunately, I need to travel to attend a pre-planned family function which was recently moved forward by my brother’s school in another country.

Although I have written to the Embassy seeking for their assistance in speeding up my application because I wish to travel with my family this Thursday to attend the function.

Is it possible to defer my application and request for my passport while I return it when I return?

If this is not possible, will it be considered that my Visa application was denied?

Kindly advise on the options I have in retrieving my passport?

Thank you

Dear VO,
Thank you for your guidance, it has been very helpful. Well done.

I have a 221g interview( from drop box) next week. My daughter did not use a head covering( like an hijab or scraf) in her passport because she was much younger at the time of issuing the passport. At the time of taking the passport photo for this renewal, the photographer advised not to use her scarf because she did not use it in her passport booklet.
My question is, would you advise whether or not to use her scarf when appearing for the interview?
Thank you.
