You made some good points here tho. However, let me say this for posterity sake. The govs are part if not a major part of the problems we have in this country. Do you know why the only gov I like is Obaseki of Edo state? Because he is the only man who does waste states money to commission projects. He doesn't talk. I do not even know his media aids name or commissioner for information. Recently he went on leave and left governance to his deputy by transmiting a letter to tye
HoA. I believe one or two govs have done same but not in this fashion. All the others do what they do for politocal reasons.
And yes, you are free to see Ameachi and buhari in the light you see them. Truth is they have not done much to change that perception. But for me, I see buhari as a better option right now.
Ok

This is an erroneous belief. All it takes is the political will.

Create strong institutions not strong men.

You guys decieved gullible Nigerians that buhari was coming to fight corruption because you perceived buhari as a strong and fearless man who has military background etc, and won the election on that note. Why are you now shifting the goal post?

Lol, buhari and his goons went in there to go chop their own. grin
Sadly, institutions are run by men. Our case is different sist. The level of decay needs a total overhaul and not mending shape. We have one of the best constitutions the world over yet lawyers find a way to make it look bad. We have all it takes to be great but as you know, we are too divided to see thru. I for one does not think buhari can fight corruption wholeheartedly. His emergence in the first place is a product of corruption too. All I said is I prefer him to maybe Atiku. It's just a personal choice.

Yes institutions are run by men, they also run on autopilot. Nigeria can actually make a headway, but we are too divided along religious and ethnic lines. Unless there's true federalism, these fault lines will only deepen. Again, it boils down to one with the political will to do this.

Atiku campaigned with restructuring, but it is one of the reasons why he didn't Garner huge votes from his own people. The other reasons been his Igbo vice and Igbo wife.

What exactly do you have against atiku? Please don't tell me it's corruption.

Then, in what ways is buhari better than Atiku?

Then, in what ways is buhari better than Atiku?
Let me start from the bottom.
1. We may not be able to compare them cos atiku was not the president then. But you'd recall that buhari became president due to the growing frustration with previous admins. Having come on board it is glaring that govt is not by mouth but them he has continued to complete old projects and gradually establishing nigeria agriculture wise.
Trust me, the way nigeria is today, the solution is not a fire brigade approach but a deliberate systematic charge from all Nigerians.

2. Personally, I do not like when pple call atiku corrupt. He made money while in office so also those that are there now are making money too. I go with those singing his praise in that regard cos he created jobs here in Nigeria. Mind you , am not saying stealing public funds is good but for now we do not have the magic wand to curb it. My issue with atiku same problem I have with obj. These men feel they are the only pple who can steer the ship of state aright. Since atiku left office hos dream is to become president with no justifiable reason. Restructuring? Hmmmm... you see this word? Dem Don change the meaning. Lemme ask you, what is restructuring? Too ambiguous. Too vague. Too often abused. No single president can restructure this country adequately except the NASS ceases to exist. This was exactly what happened to all the past constitutional and whatever conferences we have had in this country. The president by our laws have limitations.

3. The issue of igbo vice is just one of the many troubles we have in this country. Apart from the fact that we are too divided along these trivial lines , it was same pdp pple who worked against obi. Ever wondered why the govs scored double what they gave their presidential candidate. They never cared especially in the east.

4. I repeat again that men run institutions. There's nothing like auto pilot. The Democrats did not leave the investigation of trump and his election to auto pilot authority. They hired a private investigator (don't be decieved that it's the authority, look well). If you have ever worked in an office, maybe a govt office, you will understand how this country works. Until the citizens start asking question nothing will happen. The restructuring atiku preached about will it affect the amount of money they spend to get elected? The issues are not that simple. To make appreciable progress, citizens must rise up.

On your No 1, buhari didn't become president because of any growing frustrations. It was pure politics. Even the politicians themselves especially those in APC have been coming out to say it was because Jonathan rescinded on a gentleman agreement not to seek reelection.
The frustrations of BH in the north may be, but you saw how northern leaders buhari included, politicised the whole issue of BH and made it very difficult for the government to go all out to launch a deadly offensive.

When APC was finally birthed, the SW wing didn't leave any stone unturned in launching the most brutal and sometimes personal attacks on the govt using the vast array of their media both social and traditional.

The choice of buhari was simply for pecuniary gains because before then, notable figures like tinubu and Rufai and a host of others had unequivocally at different times given reasons to Nigerians why buhari was unfit for the job. So what changed? They leveraged his cult followership by the commoners upnorth to bring power back to the north. It worked.

Believe me, if Jonathan was a northerner, with the little he achieved, warts and all, they would turban him and sing praises of him to high heavens.

An inscription on the banner of one zamfara protester read "I'm a bit pissed". The covener, kadaria bypassed the chief security officer of the nation to blame the governor. Like seriously? A bit pissed with all the Carnage going on in zamfara? I hope you can see the trend here.

Was shettima ever blamed by his people even when he it was obvious that the chibok saga could have been avoided if he obeyed FGs instructions? No, they blamed Jonathan instead.

No 2, So Atiku contesting for presidency severally means he sees himself as the Messiah? I don't agree with you. I'm trying to remember that American ex-pres who vied severally before he won, does that make him a Desperado? The man buhari has always contested to be president since the return to democracy, what makes Atiku more desperate?

In Lagos and SW generally, if you don't have the nod of tinubu, you can never make a headway. By your stance, he also feels like without him, nothing works.

Restructuring is not rocket science, just that there's no political will. The issues needing restructuring are glaring for all to see. APC campaigned with it too only to jettison it.

Yes the Nass would be an impediment in it's actualization cos the northerners who are in the majority will kill it there. This expected reaction itself is another reason to restructure the country along economic and political lines.

No 3, you have no proof to show that PDP govs worked against obi in that election. Remember naija politics is expensive. Atiku had no access to national Treasury unlike buhari. There would be little he could do and then bank on the people's trust. Atiku was delivered in SE no matter the figures.

No4, what I mean by institutions on autopilot is that the institutions would be so strong in automation and technology whereby you don't need anyone to tell you that if you do this, you will naturally be detected. Some of those things are presently in place and running.
It won't totally eliminate corruption, but would reduce it to the barest minimum.

We can start by making it inevitable to register all births and deaths electronically and having a data base of all Nigerians and those who reside in it.

Does it not bother you that till date, there's been no tangible evidence as to how BH get funding. No trace. No link. Only conjectures.

Our borders are still very porous because of the analog system of policing.

These are low hanging fruits this government who claim it is the Messiah can reap, but whossai. grin

I am from Cross Rivers State but grew up in Delta with my parents. My Fiance and I are getting married in couple of months in Asaba. He is from Delta and a State Exco member of BSO, in Lauretta Camp. He dying in silence, or should i say he is afraid. He doesn't want to show his identity, atleast not to be removed from the BSO Platform by this same Laureta. The truth is that he has been complaining bitterly how the aid of Mr. President has harassed and intimidated members of the group immediately after the success of Mr. President. I am very busy tonight, but i would like to share two screen shots.

Halima, Laureta paid attacked dog, as often referred to by my Fiance, made an allegation against the Women Leader and Youth Leader as those who she shared part of the relooted 45million given to her by the minister of petroleum. The Youth Leader, tried to draw attention that the post may have been referring to some other Youth Leader, and pleaded to be excused, and that he never received any kobo from Lauretta, but in her new found trade of removing members of Buhari Support organisation, she removed him.

I have consistently told my fiance to resign from that group until she leaves. He argued BSO is Buhari's and not Onochi's as such he wont leave it because of Laurate ill manners. I dont like her, (she is free to hate back), her tout-like mannarism and the way she treats members.. When my fiance told me how the president media aid led touts to destroy mounted CCTV cameras at the State Office in Asabe on the day of the rally, i know something was fishing and i told my fiance that "this woman seem to be hiding something, but very soon light will shine into darkness'.

Finally, the stories abi na investigation of mismanagement and sabotage against Laureta are largely true, about 90%.

I will follow up the journalist investigating this matter and maybe place a call to provide relevant info he needs. i promised to follow this thread to a logical conclusion. I have the full permission of my oga at the top.

Calm down bro, no be fight. We are in the politics of defending our own. APC taught us well. You are an APC apologist and would definitely align with the rot that goes on there. I didn't need to have the discussion with you like as now.

Talking about killing them at all costs is APC's way and fashion.

I cannot applaud buhari on anything because he himself makes it difficult for people to applaud him.

I can't applaud Amaechi cos he doesn't believe government is a continum. His feat in the transport ministry, rail specifically was an ongoing project.

I can't condemn wike for lives lost in the hands of state securities because he doesn't control them and can't even access same.

Ogmask, buhari was seated and the world was watching when Amaechi said the election was gonna be war. It turned out a very bloody war.

Innocent people died. The national security agents compromised, Amaechi was thoroughly violated by the outcome of the election grin

Amaechi should be in prison for the killing of his kinsmen if we had a working system.
