Unless you have a sponsor based in Germany with relationship ties to you or some other european organizatiom funding your stay there...

For a duration of 6 months, you will be required to show a minimum of 4,320euros.

About the job seeker visa, I read in a german site that one has to have at least 5 years experience in his/ her related field. How true is this? I have just 2 years experience and its not really in my field of study.

I'll like to know my chances of getting this job seeking visa. I studied Finance and Banking and I have 2 years experience. The issue is that my work experience is not related to my course of study. I work as an Administrative Officer. Do I stand a chance a chance ? Also, I learnt that there are certain proffessions in demand in Germany, is the job seeking visa only for those professions in demand like IT, Nursing, Science etc ?

What Germany's new visa policy means for Nigerians:

Germany has a new Skilled Labour Immigration Act, which was passed in June 2019, and comes into effect March 2020.
This is what was referred to in the meeting with President Buhari. We lack skilled workers so the new law allows migrants from countries outside the EU.

The new law is different because:
You don't need an employment contract but if you can prove professional qualifications, you get 6-month residence permit to find a job.
Once in Germany, you can work for up to 10hours per week on probation or at internships. However, you need to have B2 German language skills and be able to cover your expenses.

Important: Your professional training/qualifications should be one recognised in Germany - contact your nearest German embassy, to be sure.
If you are an academic wanting to migrate, then your university degree must be recognised in Germany.

Also new is that Germany's Federal Employment Agency had a "priority check" placing screening for German or EU applicants as a first step, but this has been removed for now!
We expect to welcome 25,000 skilled workers every year, as we have a dire shortage.

So, who can benefit?

Specialists in the medical field (surgeons, physiotherapists, support staff), engineers, craftsmen in the construction industry, experts in aerospace, mechatronics, electrical engineering, energy technology and other STEM professions.
In particular, IT specialists are FAVOURED�

They are in such demand in Germany, that they can get the 6-month residence permit without training.
They only have to provide clear proof that they have years of experience in their field!!!

So, there it is.

Can an HND holder benefit from this, I have over 5 years experience related to my field, I have money for block account and I want dedicate the next 6 months to learn german to C level.

My only concern is the HND factor, will they accept it as equivalent to Degree...

You don't need block account. The German language is essential tho

What's more important is that this isn't only limited to professionals with academic qualifications.
If you have a vocational qualification (welding, construction, mechanical/automation engineering, plumbing, heating and air-conditioning, etc) and you have an officially recognised certificate in Nigeria, you can also apply for the job search permit (after the recognition of your qualification by the German authorities via the embassy).

If you're below 25 you can now apply for vocational training/education rather than waiting for JAMB. The difference when compared to academic training is that you'll "earn as you learn" when taking a VE training. You can learn electrical engineering, automation engineering, IT, nursing, taxation etc. There's actually a list for this.

Also, Nurses are in very high demand- academic (B.Sc) or vocational (school of nursing)
Welders, painters, mechanics etc are in demand.
Just make sure your qualification is recognised in Nigeria and in Germany. That would be the first step.

I have tread test certificate from federal ministry of work and employment.. in the file of craft general fittings... working in engineering department as a mechanical engineering technician.. 7 years experience... can I apply?
