More details have emerged on how two students of Benue State University (BSU), drowned in a River in Benue state. The two students are Adakole Christopher, a 100- level Math and Computer science student and Miss Emmanuellla Mson, a 100- level MBBS student.

According to Lubem Terkula Aluta General, on Friday evening, Emmanuella Mson, Adakole Christopher, and 3 of their other friends headed to the river at the back of Benue State University to relax.

Arriving at the river, Adakole Christopher, a popular pianist and basketballer, was dancing with his friends beside the water while Emmanuella Mson went into the river, minutes later she came out and asked Adakole to back her and swim round the river.

While Adakole was swimming with Emmanuella on his back, the 3 other friends were dancing and making videos. After sometime, the friends didn't see their colleagues anymore as they ran back to school and couldn't raise alarm instead they went to security to write statements. As at the time the students went down to the river to search for their friends, there was little or nothing they could do.

Barely 24 hours after the body of Adakole Christopher was discovered and deposited at the morgue on Saturday, the body Emmanuella Mson who is the only child of her parents - was discovered around Orlam rice farm Nassarawa river rout.

Adekole Christopher’s corpse was found at the river bank while Emmanuella’s lifeless body was found and brought back to the bank of river Benue and has since been taken by the school ambulance to the Benue State University teaching hospital.

Only foolish children bring heartache and sorrow to their parents in this fashion.

See the dirty waters these ones went to swim in. To imagine the kind of effort the girl's parents put into securing admission into medical school for her as their one and only child. And here is where she recklessly ended it all.

Only child of her parents, and got cut at the prime of her life. I don't want to imagine the anguish her parents must be going through right now, may God console them.

Have sympathy for their families atleast.
You don't just blurt out the way you feel sometimes, even if you are right.
This is a very sad and painful moment for their family members.

The same river my lil cousin and her drowned and died while celebrating their admission...
So sad! shocked
Can we call that a coincident?!
May the souls of the departed REST IN PEACE!

Tragic!!!

Girls and their love for musicians.
Reminds me of my cousin that stayed with me in Ekosodin, girls almost didn't allow him read cos he can play the guitar and also sing.

I had to caution him seriously.

Back to topic; How come they were swimming in river A, and their bodies (girl's) were found in river B.
Did the mammy water teleport her??

Anyways, RIP

Sometimes I wonder how people gather courage to go swim in a river. Not just ordinary river, a very big river that is well known for drowning people be it rainy season or dry season....

Anyway, what more can I say than R I P...

Funny part of this is that people won't still learn from this.

No matter how good you can swim you don't just jump into any water body that comes your way. Period.

Experience appears to be the only thing this our youth can learn from. Problem is experience can be too expensive.

Counsel will be better. Trust me. But social media and initial gra gra...

Give them the counsel, they will come to social media and rant about their stupid opinions, and independence.

I guess someone in the school has learnt a lesson to avoid "wild" rivers if you can't handle sudden waves...
