In Ondo places like Ore, Owo, Ikare, Ifon and Akure are popular than the State.

In Oyo places like Ogbomosho, Sarki, Ikire are more popular than Oyo

In essence we can have as many cities that are more popular than the state itself

lol Ondo as a town is even more popular than Akure ,why are you saying , Ekiti people are refer as Ondo sometimes , the only popular town in Ondo state aside the main Ondo city is Ore ,Akure will be third

dod you understand the post at all Ondo as a city is quite popular,Zamfara is well know many people do t know gusau,Ekiti is well know in general ,even Aregbesola makes Osun as a state more popular doing his tenure

Akwa Ibom and Cross River = Calabar (Anybody from these 2 states is simply called Calabar Man or woman )

Edo and Delta = Bendel (Anybody from these 2 states is called Bendel Man or Woman ) and the otumokpo Jazz for self self protection from that area is called Bendel Insurance; their football team is also called Bendel Insurance FC, it was believed that when Christian Chukwu of Rangers of Enugu and Segun Odegbami of IICC of Ibadan takes the ball towards their goalpost the goalkeeper will turn to seven lions and the ball will turn to a big rock, Bendel people were really feared back in the days

Only old school people refer to. Edos or Deltans as Bendel or Bendelites. That word is long forgotten.

Who knows all those places outside Delta? Ethiope wey people dey mistake for Ethiopia. Oghara. Known outside Delta? Really? Even Ughelli isn't known outside. People from all those places claim Warri when the leave DT

Owerri has practically been made to become Imo state.

Old Owerri, New Owerri and other Owerris are emerging in Owerri.

But no other town in Imo state has witnessed real development or urbanization.

I quoted the guy who made a post about states that are more popular than their capital cities, and that's why I Included Nasarawa there. Nasarawa is much more popular than Lafia. Same can be said about Anambra and Awka.
