Enugu state is a southeastern state in Nigeria with its capital city as Enugu. It was formed in 1991 from Anambra State. Less formally, it is also known as the Wawa state, because the people in this area respond with €˜wa (used as an emphasising ‘no’) rather than mba€™ used in other parts of Igboland. It is also popularly known as 042.

Enugu is bound by Kogi and Benue to the north, Ebonyi to the east, Abia and Imo to the south and Anambra to the west, covering an area of around 8,730 km2

Enugu state has a population of about 3 million and home to the Igbo speaking people, widely noted for their industry, entrepreneurship, resourcefulness, travelling and most importantly hospitality (it is custom to greet people very warmly first, asking about their family and health, before starting any business).

Wouldn't it be better if you specify the type of accommodation ( self contained, one or two or three bedrooms, etc.)

Enugu is a cool town, lots of provision for recreation.

Pros:
1, Transportation very cheap
2, Food very cheap and in variety
3, Too much oringo for the oringo lovers

Cons:
1, Very Expensive housing
2, Poor inroad network in residential areas such as: abakpa, ugwuaji, Monarch, Emene, Uwani, Gariki
3, N0/Expensive water, especially in areas of Enugu urban(20 litres of portable water could go as high as 50naira.

Lagos is overrated,how much is your salary that one landlord will collect 400k for one mini flat.

No ogui....no abakpa...no achara layout....young man u should go and visit Enugu first

Argue with your Landlord.

Enugu and Imo States have the most beautiful ladies in Nigeria.

And they are mostly naturally fair in complexion.

Not the ugly bleaching ones with colours almost looking like that of a zebra in the waste region.

I dont even like beans by the way. If people can buy houses in Abuja and Lagos, then Enugu is a walkover. Believe!!!

While here in abuja, 1bedroom flat goes for 650-800k, depending on where u resides while ordinary selfcon goes between 200-300k

Guys and slay queens were ready to do anything then just to be in town for service.
3 months into service, I was hearing all kinds of lamentations about the cost of living in Enugu town. 90% of them ended up staying in NCCF family house .
I enjoyed my service in Awgu local government sha.

I can't believe someone would list the emboldened as cities. Like have you been to Enugu, particularly these parts? Do you even know what a city is?

Independence Layout and New Haven are just about the only places with a touch of modern feel. Plus, one can't get a flat for 200k in these parts.

The other places are either lesser than average or people's villages.

Enugu is fairly cheap, compared to Lagos and Port Harcourt. The problem is most of the so-called agents are either not educated or enlightened. They don't know what the 10% agreement is.

It is possible you get a flat for 300k and the agent would ask you to pay 180k as commission. For corps members, it is not really a idea serving in the Northern part of the state, which is the most expensive. The Southern part is fairly okay, just as the Eastern part. Other places are ancestoral villages.
