Great news. All our best minds and hands are migrating to Canada and the country isn’t worried cos they know they have nothing tangible to offer them. Aleast obasanjo showed concern for brain draining during his tenure.

So you go wait too, my brother if you get d chance just collect visa & leave this hell hole, THERE IS CURRENTLY ABSOLUTELY NOTHING GOOD ABOUT NIGERIA. Do ur kids a favor & give them a better future

Congratulations to a true Nigerian
Why do you people like lying? How can he be a true Nigerian? Is he in Nigeria? What did he do for Nigeria except to run out of Nigeria?

Nigeria must change. U can travel and better ur life bt return to the motherland to make it better. Running away from ur country won’t help. Americans stayed during the dark times and made it what it is 2day.

Good things don’t always come easy.

If it is in Nigeria, a certain tribe will threaten the whole Igbo people them, telling them to respect their "host"; and shutting down Igbo business yet claiming sophistication.

IGBO AMAKA
that is why we are stronger and better, read Exodus 1: 1 down, you will discover why am not bothered about Afonja actions about Igbos.

Nothing good?
Indians and Chinese are packing their load here and setting up furniture, steel and civil works industries right here in Nigeria. Using Nigerians as cheap labour.

We have refused to stop fighting useless tribalistic warfare. We are the ones killing ourselves. Continue being tribalistic. You will travel overseas, meet other Nigerians there and fight against them.

I don't know why i don't see this as a good thing... I don't want to be governed by any Nigerian in Canada. I was governed by Nigerians in Nigeria, it was not a pleasant experience. Let everybody go and make money and live peaceful and comfortable life in Canada. Let the Oyinbo rule the country the way they have always done it.

You see, over there, there are systems with working checks and balances.
It's not like Africa where we are still experimenting leadership.
Anyone who gets the opportunity to lead over there understands this.
That's why a Nigerian man will be the US and obey traffic lights. But when he is in Nigeria, he doesn't. If traffic officials fine him, he will tell them he has a high-ranking officer who will sack them from work.

This man was elected through the efforts of the Nigerian community in Edmonton with help from some other Africans. Two days ago I was speaking to a friend who lives in Edmonton, Canada and he told me all Nigerians had elected to vote for him in the polls.

Do not reduce this to an ethnic accomplishment.
When they are overseas, they can all vote for him. When they are in Nigeria, what happened? And we just finished elections.

whichever alliance between yorubas and igbos should end up producing Igbo presidential candidate, anything outside will just make the trend continue.
Of course.. Igbo/Yoruba ticket
Then Yoruba /igbo ticket...

After that 16 years.. You will see a better Nigeria

If there are enough Oyinbo in Igboland, doing business, and contributing to development, they'll have the opportunity to lead. I know Ibo very well. They contribute to progress and become part and parcel of anywhere they settle.
But will enough oyinbo be allowed to do business in Igbo land and contribute to its development? Why is it easy for igbos to contribute to progress and become part and parcel of every where else, but difficult for everyone else to become part and parcel of Igbo land?
I have heard of igbos discriminating against other igbos in terms of political and civil service appointments

Igbo Yoruba ticket will never produce Nigerian president. the north are more in number so you need to get north central in to the equation by giving them VP slot which they never had before anything can materialise.

Gbam. The first elected mayor of Enugu was a Fulani man.
That was before we became ultra tribalist. Today an mbaise man cannot become a local government chairman of an Mbano town before you start talking about a full fulani man.

If you are open minded like the Igbos, you can do business, live, buy houses and lead in Igboland, even as a non-Ibo. Yes it is possible. But only the courageous people with an open mind like Ibos can survive and Succeed in Igboland. Get courageous and open minded. Nobody go dash you leadership anywhere, you'll have to EARN IT.

As civilized as Canada is, Kaycee madu still faced racial discrimination (according to article) , yet he powered on and won. Be like Ibos, be courageous and open-minded, then you can get their loyalty, the way the world becomes loyal to Ibo politicians from US to Poland, Italy and Canada and vote them to lead.

Peace

You skirted the question I asked. I know it is possible, but why is not not happening? Why has any other tribe or nationality not been able to do business, live, buy houses and lead in Igboland? We have Lebanese, Chinese, Indians, etc doing business in Lagos and Ibadan, we have Lebanese communities in Kano, but no foreign communities in the south east. Are you insinuating that all other people of the world are not courageous and open minded except the Igbos?

One of the saddest things is to settle in Nigeria without fighting for something better.

This is what an immigrant is achieving. He was not even born there, but his children and grandchildren will be grateful he took the plunge in 2005.

God bless Canada. The maple country.
mean while here some nitwits said some pple shd leave Lagos after dier investment in Lagos... we need to remove Dat nonsense called state of origin...create equal framework for all to excel...this man is no longer a Nigerian he represents Canadian interest...if he was here nobody will listen to him

exactly...Nigeria is still a nation of tribes... we need to see ourselves as Nigerians...murtala Mohammed father was from Auchi his mother Kano...but he ruled Nigeria and history was fair to him...imagine a Yoruba boy born and bred in katsina becoming a lawmakers dee...imagine a Hausa guy born and bred in enugu representing enugu in nass dats when I agree there is Nigeria...for Now we just a conglomerate of ethno nations
