Romanus Ndehigwo, Idiroko , Ogun State : The Funeral Control Bill , in my opinion , is one of the best things to happen to Anambra State . I believe that if signed into law by Governor Willie Obiano , it will go down in the history of the state as one of the most people - centred and sensible ever to be made in Nigeria . This law will go a long way in restoring sanity to our social system. https://punchng.com/gov-obiano-sign-funeral-control-bill-into-law/?fbclid=IwAR2XiBQYcxxI5xu5hsxdu9GR63TjuoTqZw_nxA2gv584A81KsldtYLkFXro

I now fully agree obiano is clearly mad. Funeral control what? Maybe we should wait and test the law on him when he is gone? Atleast bury him like a pauper.... You give a dead person befitting and sound burial. So that he can reach in peace and honour. Nna Nna m mere, o mu mee ya oburu aru? Mbanu. |

Osagyefo98:Nigerians killed twins for centuries until Mary Slessor came and helped abolish it. Was killing of twins right because they were done by the ancestors? Probably if you were alive then, you'd oppose her. People have recently been putting unnecessary expenses on their head in the name of burying the dead due to some social influence. Some would even borrow millions and live in debt for years. That was stupid. If there is a great beyond, one would get there irrespective of the medium or magnitude of burial. Laws and traditions were made for man, not man for laws. |

Awol1:If I start, your brothers and sisters will descend on me that I hate u guys but in obvious fact I don't understand how you guys reason. Obiano buried his mother and gave her over sound burial...why didn't he fast tract the bill then? You guys I know don't have tradition, if not u won't spew this trash. |

Osagyefo98:Lol. Abum ezi nwa afo Igbo. Enyim nwoke! So all of a sudden you have forgotten we are usually in the same page supporting Atiku and PDP? But everything shouldn't be politics. I hate Obiano for working against PDP because of Obi, but that doesn't mean I will also condemn what is rationally commendable in all ramifications. The law should be nationalized as a matter of fact. |

It's going to be interesting when the start enforcing this. Somebody going to break this law just because. Awol1: Awol1:I dont agree. Nobody is forced to turn a funeral into 3 ring circus. There's options like affordable funerals or cremation. |

Awol1:That law won't work in anambra state. Nobody has the right to dictate to uss how to bury our loved ones. The law will be useless in a matter of time. Before you tamper with tradition, you consult with thhe custodians of our tradition. |

Osagyefo98:You are the only voice of dissent so far from Anambra as regards the law. If custodians weren't consulted, why does majority seem to be OK with the law? |

A welcome development in my opinion. Let's stop all these senseless wastes in the name of culture and traditions. |
