In Ahmedabad, meeting with over 200 women leaders and trainers of the 1.9 million strong Self Employed Women’s Association (#SEWA)! Incredible stories of courage, hard work, self-empowerment, group empowerment and results for households, communities and the nation! Women are particularly interested in the HPV vaccine for their daughters and young girls to prevent the ravages of cervical cancer, now a leading cause of cancer deaths among women globally but particularly in low and middle-income countries. Cervical Cancer deaths were 311,000 in 2018, outstripping maternal deaths. Poor women in low and middle-income countries have little access to cancer screening.
