The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu has ordered the immediate reversal of the shift duty structure of the Nigeria Police Force.

The shift structure, which is currently a 12-hour, 2-shifts system has been changed to the traditional 8-hours, 3-shifts duty standard.

He said this while declaring open the conference of heads of Police Medical Facilities at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.

Hope this will not reduce their salary

This is nice.

Anything that will make policemen change for better in Nigeria is a welcome development

that means after morning shift, they can get another job to keep body and soul

Maybe its the overworking hours that makes them behave abnormally

It would definitely Reduce the burn-out associated with the inherent stress of a 12 hour duty .

The spate of accidental weapon discharge may also abate.

more hours for illegal work. the ones that roam on the street on commercial vehicles looking for whom to extort are mainly on illegal duty, some of the DPO are aware of it as they usually settle after every extortion of the masses.

Good development, next move remove their pockets, equip them properly, improve their salaries, give them good working and accommodating environments, train and retrain them, insurrance, good pension when retired, do this if any of them misbehaves should be beheaded

Our policies in this country are consistently inconsistent. I won't be surprise if another IGP comes tomorrow and chenge it again

They will still keep themselves on 12 hour shift, as any hours spent not in uniform is revenue loss for a policeman.

What is the meaning of those funny looking clothes and ribbons they usually tie around meeting venue, all in the name of decorations.... When are we going to out grow these unserious and hilarious characters.
