Im going to follow this case. I still have my doubts. I think its more likely these guys work with these drug mules getting caught. If its this easy to get drugs on plane then money laundering and weapon smuggling would be too easy.

moreover...after planting the drugs...what next? Will the drugs automatically find their way to the dealer on the other end? unless your goal is purely to setup the passengers, then why would you deposit drugs in their luggage when you have no way to recover said drugs when they eventually arrive?

Members of their cartel(usually involved in luggage handling) at the other side are contacted and given the flight details, luggage color/type and of course THE NAME TAG TO LOOK OUT FOR. While offloading luggage from plane, said member proceeds to locate bag and the illegal stuff before it gets to the arrival area of the airport.(This takes quite a while) Sometimes they can't find it and the luggage gets the attention of giant sniffer dogs at arrival entrance.Drugs are found , owner gets in trouble. Criminal staff realizes fuckûp but oh well.. better the passenger than him/ her right?.

doesn't add up to me. Once the plane lands, luggage is unloaded straight to the baggage claim, and usually gets there even before the passengers themselves. Baggage claim is always an open area with lots of people about...there is no time for anyone to sift through all that luggage to find a particular bag they have not seen before, and then to search the bag for what they're looking for, and more importantly, the bags don't go to a secluded place. So really, bags can only be tampered with at their port of origin but not at the destination...which means there could be no possible end game for the alleged airport accomplices.
