The Nigerian Army has redeployed the Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps, Maj Gen Suleman Kazaure, and eight other generals in a major shake-up released on Friday from the army headquarters, Abuja.

Kazaure, the 17th NYSC DG, was redeployed to the Nigerian Army Resource Centre, Abuja, as a Senior Resource Person, while a new DG, Brig Gen Shaibu Ibrahim, had been appointed.

Ibrahim, who was formerly with the Nigerian Army University, Biu, Borno State, would take over the NYSC as the 18th head of the scheme.

The former DG used to be my school commandant in command day secondary school back then. DG kazaure is a nice funny guy and a disciplinarian to the core.

It is just so painful that it was after I served he was appointed I would have formed familiarity with him in camp.

Yes. Very simple and nice but he instilled fear in all of us. Command day secondary school students were very disciplined during his time as commandant.
