ManyThanks: It reflects the reality on the ground: we have more people, but our economy has stagnated, meaning there's less money per person. We see this in lost jobs and increasing hardship. I don't blame Buhari, really... I blame the people who insisted on voting him in, and voted for him a second time. At some point one has to stop blaming the rain for leaking into the house, and instead fix the roof; but we're not ready yet. 14 Likes 2 Shares |

[quote author=martineverest post=77878939]the headline shows op is poor mathematically.....our economy is larger than the entire west African countries,do u expect it to grow higher than smaller economics? analogically, the growth rate of Switzerland, singapore,Korea etc economics is expected to be higher than those of USA, Germany,Japan, china and india if u do the mathematical calculations, the growth in dollars of Nigeria economy could be larger than the entire growth of those west African economics[/quote I knew some monkey will surely talk shit.. 8 Likes |

You shouldn't expect economic brilliance from a president that decided to give aid to another country but does not realise that the japanese vehicles and chinese kits he supplied to them could have been made in Nigeria and our money would have remained at home creating more jobs.\ Basic Governance 101. Buhari is too dull for the 21st century. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Iamgrey5:But you were much higher than this not too long ago. Nigeria is a third world country with enormous room for growth. 1.9% is scandalous. That is the growth rate of saturated economies like Germany, US and UK. 11 Likes 1 Share |

The moment Nigerians re-elected Buhari was when I know her citizens are the most stupid and foolish people on earth...The south west saw the absolute failure of this man and still voted him just because of 2023,what kind of shallow mindedness and wickedness is that. The Muslim North voted for him in mass just because of bigotry and their love for poverty. In all this I pity the South East and South South. The East want to progress but the system is sabotaging them out of pure wickedness and hatred. As for south south, some of them have chosen to side with the system that has oppressed them instead of siding with the only brother they have which is the south east. I believe one day justice shall reign, its just a matter of time. 12 Likes |

Bizibi:yes, they are but the op should make it look as if we arent progressing compare to the other countries growth rate...if u do the calculation,at that growth rate, about 10 billion dollars will be added to our economy, while highest growth rate country,Ivory cost will have about 3 billion dollars added to their economy 2 Likes |

China grew for 12% for 15-20 year straight when they were at Nigeria's level. That was what made them a giant. Any Nigerian government that does not ensures double digit growth throughout the bulk of his tenure has failed. That is the only way to reduce poverty and unemployment to noticeable levels. 5 Likes |

RTSC:Nigeria used to have 6 to 7 % growth rate before it was rebased in 2013. The base year I believe was shifted from the 80s to year 2000 to capture new industries. Starting from 2014, the Nigerian economy slipped into economic recession due to fall in the global prices of crude oil its major economic stimulant. Never mind that Nigerian economic growth was not transferred to economic development as most of the money from crude oil sales were looted. |
