Pythons dont bite. Its just like saying goat bite.

You're 100% wrong. Pythons bite, because like all snakes pythons have fangs too. And how can you compare a python (natural predator) and a goat (herbivore)? grin Just search python bite on YouTube and educate yourself

Only one truth about everything you pointed out.

They are not poisonous

The history of constrictor attacks recorded.

When you challenge me come with proof.

I also agree that all snake can bite.

Yea python, boar and anaconda are constrictors.

They don’t bite, neither are they poisonous.

In history ,only 2 cases of a snake swallowing an adult has been recorded so far,and it was a very huge(giant) python.

I can find you 10 cases within 10 sec Google search bro

True but baffles me, my younger cousin who served in Anambra said it's forbidden to kill or eat snakes in the LGA where he served. The snakes neither bite nor hurt anyone, they just come around, curl, 'play' with people and creep back into the bush. They sometimes stay with you in the same room for days and you just ignore them like they are rats or cockroaches. He said initially he was scared but soon got used to it, at some point you even get worried if you don't see them in a long while! They are that used to the snakes. I just keep wondering what kind of custom that is.

That kinda of custom ensures that certain species of fauna or flora don't go extinct...

Do you think it was the whites that initiated the notion of ecological balance and conservation? Nah, it was ancient Africans. And this behaviour endures in places such as anambra. What's the point of killing an animal that poses no harm to you?

Your confusion is its fangs. Well here is a shocker. Pythons use its fangs to help push the prey down into its stomach, thats why they are curved inwards. Same applies to all snakes with fangs poisonous or not. It is you that needs to dig and find out. Some other fellow in same school of thought as you posted a link to an article to prove me wrong. You can read the article.

I quite agree with you to a great extent but we are not talking about pythons alone here, we are talking about all kinda snakes including the poisonous ones. They don't hurt people in that particular region, that's why It remains baffling.

Once upon a time i was a zookeeper in San Diego.

I was whistling to myself, " i am the king of the jungle, lord of the rings" at the top of my voice as i went to feed the chimpanzees in Cage 7. The parrots had joined in, providing a chorus.

Suddenly, when i noticed that i was the only one singing.

Every animal had turned silent , you could almost hear a pin drop ! It seemed even the air had paused blowing.

I slowwwwwwllllyyyyyyy turned back shocked, fearful of what i would see... cry cry cry

I had forgotten to lock Cage 9, Kumbaya's cage! undecided shocked

Kumbaya was a giant silverback gorilla at least 400 pounds in weight and 7 feet tall.

He had slowly opened the latch of his cage and he was with me in the corridor, 10 steps from me.... all his sharp pointy teeth on display shocked

Pythons do not bite. It stings. That's why when ever you spot a coiled python it's tail is always positioned far away from its body.

Pythons sting? Nawa for you oga. Pythons constrict, that is squeezing their prey before swallowing. It is rattle snake that usually raises its tail to make a rattle noise when threatened .

Other snakes are dangerous to people in that region. Although they hardly attack people. Unlike python, if you are not careful with other snakes, they will bite you. In fact once a snake other than python is sighted, it must be killed. They have phobia for snake. What an irony!

Especially idemilli north of Anambra state. It is a custom that snakes are sacred animals of the water goddess. They worship the goddess there.

So did the corpers think until the community leaders schooled them on their ancestry & tradition and its relations to snakes (all kind) in that village. Surprisingly, no incident of snake bite occurred until they left, whatever made that happened remains a mystery to them, sounds weird but true especially when you consider science and supposed reality.

NB: I will find out the name of the village from him and revert.
