For me oo; there is no cartel. The government just used that as a scheme to save a Nigerian drug trader. Fear North, especially under APC. Lies are their second name. Saudi Arabia should take note.

Nawao, Shehu Sani has a point but will his suggestions be admissible incase something like this happens again, mehn, this whole thing disgusts me, how can people be so wicked to plant drugs on an innocent passenger, everything connected to wickedness is in Nigeria, what a shame, l, think with this development, I might not be checking in any bags again from Nigeria whenever I visit, I will just go with a small personal bag that I can check in as hand luggage with my laptop and other smaller items, Nigeria is beyond redemption sad

According to the story, the drug was not planted inside a bag that belongs to her rather a bag containing the drugs was tagged as her bag at the kano airport, they know she won't claim the bag at Saudi because she was not aware of it's existence but the drug cartel contact person will immediately claim the bag at the Saudi airport after it must have gone through the necessary security checks without detection . But unfortunately if the Authorities at the Saudi airport single out the drug for special searching then name tag will show that she is the owner and cartels will forget the bag but she now becomes the drug courier.
I was thinking like you before I found out the way they plan the whole scheme which seems really smart on their part.
Only God knows how many people are in death row because of these evil men

I'm not surprised those so called "cartel" are now walking free as onfirmed by Abike Dabiri, SSA to President on Diaspora and foreign affairs.

I don't want to ask what would have happened if the case had involved Chiamaka Okafor and not Zainab.
But my question is: Why is she the only one released?
What about the over 20 persons in Saudi Custody facing similar charges?
What made us to be so dull in this country?

Further investigations would reveal that, provided the guilty parties would talk. All these drug cartels are always very secretive.

There is one in Mexico. The Sinaloa Cartel. A very powerful cartel that has been active since the 80s. They plant drugs in the luggage of innocent travelers.

Then, there is Cali Cartel in Colombia.

One thing is that they work with some security officials at the airports.

are the video admissible as evidence or defense when shit hits the fan . An accused is always manhandled and bullied in Naija their home country let alone abroad were nobody is there to defend you or seek leniency on your behalf.

A quick solution : do not use the type of bag or luggage that require padlock. use the type that uses number code and the lock are fixed to a spot. that way you will immediately know that someone has tampered with your bag the moment you sight it and that should be when you will raise the alarm at the airport that you have either been robbed or set up .

if you force a pence through a zipped bag it will open, all you need to do is to hold the 2 zip and pull it over the opened area and the bag will zip again as if no one touched it.

what if the bag in question was not even yours at all but your name was tagged on it and filled with drugs? does ur method help?

Nobody planted anything in her bag.

Is she the only person that was "framed" by the imaginary "cartel"?

Is she the only innocent Nigerian languishing in foreign prisons?

Why will the "cartel" plant cheap tramadol in her bag when they can plant cocaine and make millions?

Why will the drug (tramadol) that the northern youths like to abuse be the same one found in her bag?

She schools in Kano, a state where Tramadol and Codeine are used by many of their youths.
"Cartel" transporting tramadol is laughable grin grin grin

The problem is that you IPOB guys don't read. The luggage was not found in her possession. The issue was that the luggage was tagged with her name. The luggage was left at the Airport until the drug cartel will come and pick it.
Stop being stupid.

What he posted was to prevent people PLANTING LUGGAGE ON YOU...not ITEMS ON YOU. You video the luggage you are checking in so that ANY other luggage bearing your name that's not in the video can be DENIED

So definately these morons must have executed a lot of innocent people who had drugs planted in their bags. Why not just give them a long jail-term instead 9f killing them?

Exactly... grin all those guys in secondary school used to feel smart by padlocking their bags. Me and my guys will use tiny nail to open the zip and take what we want. After we are done, we zip it back effortlessly. The sweetest part na when we dey open girl's bag and eat the meat in their food or we bring their sanitary pad out and put it on their table for them grin

BafanaBafana:

The cartel target those with luggage that are underweight and then label a bag with drugs in that person's name and add to the luggage. On getting there, the passenger picks up his own bags and goes then the cartel guys somehow pick up the bag with the drugs.

Zainab was already in her hotel chilling when the police came and knocked at her door that a bag containing drugs has her name on it.

That's the true picture. But feel free to believe whatever makes you happy

Waooo!!! this act is so evil. Although the quick response of the government in this particular case is really heating the polity considering its approach in past cases, Nigerians should really look into this issue of set up by drug cartels at the airport.

Why don't we canvass for a system that gives a passenger an input into how your luggage are tagged?

Listed among the items on the tag, the number of luggage a passenger is carrying should be indicated on the tags. for example if i have 3 luggage; bag one should be 1/3; bag two should be 2/3; bag three should be 3/3 etc. The passenger should also have a copy of these tags.

If there is an additional bag, definitely the passenger can't have 4/3 as the case may be.

They said the security men traced her to hotel to arrest her. That could have let the security men know she is innocent because if she is aware of it she would have gone to the hotel with the bag. So they dont do investigation there before executing people.?

I have been asking the same question too... No one is answering...

The cartel just find pleasure in implicating innocent people? The cartel have no plans to make money, all they want is to implicate people for fun?

Obviously, they have no plans to retrieve the drugs from the victims...

The lady is a drug dealer for the powers that be in this country... And they have rescued her...

All lies... One Nigeria my a*s
