A lot of people keep saying look at Klopp at Liverpool, Pep at City and I just laugh really hard.

Truth is, we don't have the financial grit of either Liverpool, City, United or even Chelsea to be candid.
But wasn't this what was sold to us during the bad years preceding Emirates opening. We were told to be patient, that as soon as the stadium debt were paid, we can match the bests in Europe in bringing top talents to Arsenal.
Now story has changed.

Someone remind me why we left the Highbury and have to endure years of trophy drought thereafter? Maybe I didn't get the memo.

Arsenal: Brighton H, Burnley A
Chelsea: Watford H, Leicester A
Tottenham: Bournemouth A, Everton H,

On paper we have the easiest fixtures, but our foolish boys will not have sense. We only need to win those two games, I am sure both Chelsea and Spurs will drop points.
The problem started with Emery gaffe against Palace.
Home was our strongest point this season, yet Emery chose to gamble with our home game.

A full strength team from the beginning of that match, and we would be 1point ahead of Chelsea at this stage with our destiny firmly in our hands.

We can blame Wenger all we like for leaving us a screwed up squad, we can blame Kroenke for refusing to loosen his purse strings and bring in quality signings, these are all valid points and they all deserve their blame.
But this current situation of ours, it was caused by Emery getting too cocky and gambling with our home match. It's squarely on him.

If we don't make top 4 this season , it will be directly because of Emery blunder against Palace. Wenger filling the club with mediocre overpaid weak players and Kroenke refusing to offer Emery enough transfer warchest, will all be the secondary causes .

I noted after that Palace game, that the arrogance exhibited in that line up, could be season defining for Emery and Arsenal, and it's proving to be so today.

Emery could argue that he put in a squad he believed were capable of winning the game.

I think with the quality available to him, he had done well.

Notwithstanding, bottling up a CL place at this time of the season is bad for his cv.

Forgive me but your comment reeks of naivety regarding the business ends of the team. Just because the team moved from Highbury to the Ashburton Groove means all is set and paid off? The total cost of building the Ashburton Groove was 390 million euros (put into consideration changes in the Euro exchange rate since 2006), we contributed 130 million and borrowed 260 million. Do you think 260 million euros with accruing interests can be paid off in 13 years? The team is structured in a way that ensures that its debt is properly managed while keeping the team alive and active and to be honest, if you were business inclined, you will agree that they have done a tremendous job. Man, there is more to the move to a new stadium than meets the ordinary eye.

Weeks ago, I wrote a detailed post regarding the move to a new stadium and some of the financial implications after Spuds moved to their new stadium. You are free to go back and read my post about it. Don't get me wrong, I am like everyone else who wants the best players but I am very realistic whenever fans compare us to Liverpool, United and maybe Chelsea in terms of financial grit. I will be shocked if Emery gets above 80 million euros in the transfer market. We can make a marquee signing but that will be it. Our scouts need to do a better job.

Meanwhile,

And they say baba should be spared?

Missing glaring chances, disappearing and not affecting games much is an issue that should raise concern.

And still he is up there with the best scorers in the league. Oga, Auba is the least of our problems now. I am sure you watched Tottenham vs Ajax and you saw the movement in midfield between both teams. Both move the ball and spread the width of the pitch on both wings. Can we play like that? That's the question. Auba misses a lot of chances, it's not new right from his Dortmund days but he also scores a lot. Right now, we need a functional midfield and proper wing players including fullbacks. We are so passed it at this point.

All the "he is up there stat" is papering over the cracks,
His competitors for the golden boot have had far lesser minutes and harder games in europe, yet he's been overtaken on the tally.
He's like the main man the club relies on for goals, Laca and welbeck were like supporting forward for him providing him with all sorts of creativity.
The stat says big chance missed, it's too much and needs to be addressed.
I know he's done well, but he needs to influence games and get more ruthless.

I watched Spurs /Ajax, they are energy personified.

....No one is saying that stat is good, it just shows that he is not very clinical, same with Laca. Which is why we need goalscoring wingers to help with the goal burden as we can't completely rely on them for goals. We have this season and since they lost form and Ramsey injured, we have found it extremely difficult to score. That is what needs addressing.

As an arsenal fan, I will say that Unai Emery is not a coach. Take a look at the lineup. I don't think we will have a shot on target tonight because abumenyang and laca will be useless upfront. Guendozi, Mustafi when monreal is there. I laff

The bold is an untrue statement. If you don't like Auba state it without misrepresenting facts.

Brilliant sense of awareness from Auba to square that ball to Laca for the goal.

We may as well stop playing with defenders, wetin we gain with defenders?
