They should start blaming Buhari in their filthy ariaria market.

On a more serious note, the problem is, beyond politics, the issue of state civil services employing more people than they can accomodate.

As a result, wage bills cannot keep up with the number of people on the payroll. (Ghost workers , yes, but the last time a state investigated for ghost workers...they found only 5000. Not very much).

So, either states sack workers (not very politically popular) or they do as Ikpeazu does....and keep workers employed, with the promise that they would be paid.

Only states which aggressively collect IGR/Taxes, like Lagos , can survive. Most states cannot.

Soon, Abia is going to have to start sacking workers. It is sad...but then, workers must be paid. And if the number of workers on the payroll exceeds the amount of money that you can pay them...

(One thing about Abia, they don't have a good enough private sector that can absorb workers. Like Osun, they are a civil service state.).

Sure, Master Governor should reduce cost of governance....but at the end of the day, it might not do much. Maybe save a handful of jobs...not all.
