A Lagos hairdresser identified as Kenile Nwabuzor, reportedly committed suicide over disagreements she had with her boyfriend identified as David. The resident of Fadausi Street, Ijeshatedo, Lagos State, who has had an unhealthy relationship with her boyfriend after they met about two years ago, committed suicide on Thursday, April 11, 2019 after David reportedly said he was no longer interested in the relationship.

It was gathered that the 26-year-old lady had sent a text message to her boyfriend, stating that he made life miserable for her and it is not worth living for again. However David who spoke to Punch’s correspondent, said her started off a relationship with Nwabuzor two years ago while she was mourning the death of her mother. However David who is a graduate expressed fears that their relationship might not work out, because of the disparity in their educational qualifications as Nwabuzor was a secondary school leaver. The photographer further revealed that Nwabuzor usually accused him of being promiscuous, which he found difficult to dispel.

The Lagos Police Command spokesperson, DSP Bala Elkana, who confirmed that the Lagos hairdresser committed suicide after a disagreement wit her boyfriend, said the police had received a distress call from the general hospital that one Kenile Nwabuzor was brought in dead by his boyfriend. He said, “Preliminary investigation revealed that the lady had earlier sent a text message to her boyfriend that she would kill herself. Her corpse was removed and deposited in the Lagos Mainland Hospital morgue.”

This is similar to what many girls do to men: after seeing them through school, making them comfortable financially with the hope that you will marry them as you both promised, when they graduate, they dump you. They will give the excuse that they are more educated than illiterate you and they deserve better. All your money down the drain.

It's not that easy to say. You never can tell how much she invested into the relationship only for it to break up and realising that such investments were all for nothing.

Most times, the investments are such that if they were never made, the person would have been far better off career-wise and financially. For example, a girl refused to go to university so that she could pay for the education of her medical student boyfriend so that he will earn better and together with her petty trade, the family would be well taken care of. Seven years later, after housemanship, the boyfriend dumps her cold. How do you expect her to feel knowing that her sacrifices and investments were all for nothing?

Or a male illiterate trader strains himself financially and couldn't expand his business because he decided to train the girl he wanted to marry in the university and law school. Seven years later, after her graduation, she says she can't marry him because she is above his league after promising him marriage. How do expect him to feel? If he becomes suicidal, would you be surprised? If he murders the girl or pours acid on her, would you be surprised?

Behind every suicide cases resulting from a break up is either a foolish obsession/love or huge irrecoverable investments and sacrifices. Investment are not only financial in nature, they could also be emotional. Never judge these people who kill themselves after a break up. I don't support suicide but people can really be pushed to the wall.

I'm not a policeman either ... but I see red flags here.... the same questions you ask. But bear in mind.... the police are part of the society ...their mentality is the same..... whatever is put before them... they swallow without chewing.... whatever David said... they believe without question. Look at the comments to this point... same mentality... they believe she committed suicide.
She is dead ok... suicide/homicide? .... if poisoned...did she do it to herself?..or was it him?... did he poison her and wait until she died before rushing her to the hospital?...and why would he be showing text message at this stage?... they need to seize his phone and verify the time/date the message was sent with the message provider....... and if it was sent from her phone...and if it was deleted from her phone. Sent from her phone doesn't mean she sent it. I hope they investigate this thoroughly......I strongly suspect murder.
