I do seek an advice on my education. I was an average student at secondary school of which i struggled with my weac. Eventually i had two waec result combined without passing English language at all . one result had all the science result except math and the other had math without english. I used combination of the two result to gain an admission even without english to study engineering at the polytechnic, never knew i would be so much fortunate. After my Hnd i got a good job and performing excellently well but i wish to further my education for post graduate now. l am confused on what to do now. Considering my age should i go back to write another waec, how do i even get the time considering my present job ? Can i make use of a weac result i just obtain this year for a post graduate admisson next year ? How do i cope with issue of promotions at work place considering my present level of education knowingfully well that right now I cant proceed to any university for admission without English language on my waec result. These are the questions troubling my heart. I need a sincere advice . No rain of abuse please.

You can't gain admission into a postgraduate program without crediting English at SSCE. Yes you are not too old to write SSCE that is reason GCE was created. I would advice you enrol for the next GCE coming up by September/ October ( Waec GCE) or November/December (Neco GCE) if you choose to further your education

@asuustrike thanks for the response . The constrain i have around the gce /neco is the schedule on the papers which is not easily predictable i mean for working class. I am only entitle to 2 weeks leave from my place of work. And i do not think 2 weeks can be enough to write the papers complete. This is something that has been bordering me for long . More than 10 yrs now. Kindly advice..

The question is what do you want to do with postgraduates studies?
I have been there and I must confess to you that it is not as exciting as it sound. Its a boring process
If you have money,I will advice you to go abroad for your further studies.
Your English result which you obtained recently is not a problem. Most school will accept it

If you cannot afford to travel abroad for schooling, you can still find a good school in Nigeria. Just check out all the schools in Nigeria at https://naijaschools.com.ng/

Is there a way you could talk to your Supervisor, Team Lead or Manager as the case may be, to permit you to be absent on the days you have an examination? This is an unofficial method that can work if you know the right persons in your company.

Your job is as important as your career progression. You just need to do the right thing now before it is too late so you won't regret it later. If push comes to shove, then you will need to do something extra.

I am assuming that finance is not your problem, but time. I suggest you look for a good school in the village which is not far from where you work, but has a record for good results for students who had written the examination in that school.

Make sure you know who the Principal is and some teachers there. In your absence, someone can write for you. All you need to do is have enough money. The truth is that so many people in the civil service and in the private sector are working with either forged results or do not even have it.

Good luck!
