Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered King Nebuchadnezzar, "Your threat means nothing to us. If you throw us in the fire, the God we serve can rescue us from your roaring furnace and anything else you might cook up, O king. But even if he doesn’t, it wouldn’t make a bit of difference, O king. We still wouldn’t serve your gods or worship the gold statue you set up."

In fact, this is the most badass thing I have read in my entire life.

I am way more scared of an empty wallet than these four men were scared of the burning furnace. I feel so fake and weak lol...

Anyone else feels that way too?

Hi. Good to have you back.

The believer who does not forget sometimes not only that God is able to do all things but that God loves him in a consummate manner is probably perfect. We all stumble, like James 3:2 says.

But spiritual growth is really about getting to the point where we are more aware not only of God's Love for us and His Power to sustain or protect us but also of the hope of the world to come. As that hope brightens in our hearts (as we grow spiritually), we come steadily to caring less and less about this world's threats and seductions. At maturity, we come of age to see the world for what it is: a place of dust where everything people value and make so much of is really fading away, and to find the Hope of our Calling a solid expectation. From that point on, if we persevere in progressing in the Truth, we will come to attain to the courage of the martyrs like Stephen. You remember how even when he was being killed, it was a vision of the Lord Himself that filled his heart.

When we consider that the Tribulation is looming and it will be very terrible indeed, then such courage is critical for us to develop. An empty wallet is not a small test, but during the Tribulation, it's going to be way worse.

"10“Now, as you can see, the LORD has kept me alive and well as he promised for all these forty-five years since Moses made this promise—even while Israel wandered in the wilderness. Today I am eighty-five years old.
11I am as strong now as I was when Moses sent me on that journey, and I can still travel and fight as well as I could then.
12So give me the hill country that the LORD promised me. You will remember that as scouts we found the descendants of Anak living there in great, walled towns. But if the LORD is with me, I will drive them out of the land, just as the LORD said.”
"
- Joshua 14:10-12

There is this western part of the country colloquial, that says:
"Ti ogun ẹni ba daniloju, a maa jẹnlẹngẹ fi gba ori"
which loosely translated means:
"When you have confidence in your juju charm, you can knack or smack it on your head, safely and gently without having any problem"

From the moment we are born, our mortality clock starts to tick down, this gets me concerned, hoping I havent squandered my potential, that I ought to be like a dragon where, for every head cut off, two more heads grow back.

Joshua 14:10-12 is another badass kicking intimidating scripture. Imagine, how many 85 years old today, do you know that can take on and whup a 45 year old?

And here is my favourite line:

Ezekiel 23:20-

There she lusted after her lovers, whose genitals were like those of donkeys and whose emission was like that of horses

How many Christians know that verse is in the Bible?

I didn't make that shít up, don't kill the messenger.

Ezekiel 23:20, is a good case in point, that every wife is a kingmaker, with the power to tear down or build up. The Israelites committed adultery, they lusted after idols big time in those days. Israel was in love with these foreign gods and couldnt stop loving them, she was always in heat in order to commit adultery and so departing from God to worship the idols and/or foreign gods

Myne is where God punished with death for using the withdrawal method during sex Gen 38. Its a sin to withdraw before .... lipsrsealed , a sin to wear condom, use birth control pills, and so on and so forth.
Their pupsi even dey tidy prostitutes and pays with a sheep, in the process impregnated the daughter inlaw since all his sons were employing the withdrawal method...and this is the house that eventually produced David, who's lineage Jesus came from.

My question is, Should a perceived holy book be this foul, violent and savage?

Psalms 1:3 (EASYENGLISH BIBLE 2018)

‘He will become like a tree planted by rivers of water.’ ‘It will give its fruit in its season. Its leaves will not fall’ ‘Everything that he does will be very good.’
