I made an argument on movies in general without specifying any genre but hulk616 had to pick out football out of all the sporting events there is.

Ask yourself, is it everybody that loves football? If no, why pick it out to make a point. It is a total rubbish and an attempt to trigger football lovers like you into reacting.

Point is if Marvel hadn't gotten involved, Spiderman would have been as commercially viable as Blue Beetle. It doesn't matter what motive led to their involvement. Creatively, Sony was mishandling Spider-Man and the box office of Spidey films between '07 and '14 reflects that

1. Go back to my original post on this argument. I was talking of live-action so i don't know where you brought Spider-Verse from.

2. Box Office aside, Venom is one of the worst superhero movies of recent memory

3. The last good live-action Spidey film was Spider-Man 2 in 2004: A decade and 5 years ago! Meanwhile look up the plot details of the cancelled Amazing Spiderman 3 on sites like reddit and you'll see the atrocity Sony was about to commit before Marvel swooped in. If ASM 1&2 was laying Spider-Man in his cinematic coffin & nailing it shut respectively, ASM3 was burying it for good!

4. The diminishing box office returns and waning fanbase of the Spiderman film franchise before 2015 should show anyone with sufficient brain cells that the Spiderman IP was being damaged pre-Marvel Studios.

Marvel is not complicated you say? Where was marvel 12 years+ ago? What about the xmen and fantastic 4 franchises? Am sure those aren't marvel movies because they are massive failures at BO?

And did you say Shazam turned out unimpressive? Shazam as it stands is far better than Thor 1&2, captain America and xmen last stand etc. Shazam made profit while those marvel films brought a loss to marvel.

Finally, the dumbest statement is the final paragraph. Aquaman was lucky because of Christmas release? So that means the likes of stars wars, avatar etc are also lucky because of Xmas release?

Personally, i don't fuss over Box Office if the film isn't good. Venom was a hit financially but i detest it. No matter what you may say, Captain Marvel was at least a 7/10 & Endgame was incredibly awesome. The gospel truth is that at least 75% of MCU fall between the range of Good to Excellent. Obviously you're biased so i don't expect you to see that.
