As part of proactive measure to forestall any breach of public peace, particularly, in Government Reserved Areas exclusively planned for residence, Ondo State Government has placed embargo on the building of new hotels, night clubs, or beer parlour joints in Alagbaka and Ijapo estates in Akure, the capital city.

The commissioner for Information and Orientation, Yemi Olowolabi, who briefed the press after the State Executive Meeting held on Monday, 6th May, 2019, said the move was to ensure peace and tranquility.

He explained that the two estates are full residential areas and henceforth government will no longer approve the construction of new hotels or night clubs.

“For those who have secured approvals for the building of hotels in the past two years but have not commenced construction, such approvals are no longer valid.”

Also, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Lola Fagbemi disclosed that Council as well approved Prince Richard Oluwadurotimi Ayodele as the Onise -elect of Ise-Akoko.
