ello everyone please I need some clarifications. I have registered and paid to IQAS for my Bsc evaluation I have submitted my own copies however my school is still unable to send my transcript reason being that they are yet to find some of my courses. Along the line I researched that I could do a PGD to up my cars scores as Age is not in my side anymore. Am in the verge of registering for a 9months PGD in Caleb University.

My question is should I cancel my registration with IQAS and wait to finish my PGD and evaluate it or I should let it be and evaluate the 2 of them?

Taught during NYSC

are you married? if yes, what qualifications does your wife have? tweak the crs tool, by using one year experience, instead of three years. However you would have to get reference letter from your PPA.

Hi, NOC 1241 for Admin Assistants - e.g. Private Secretary which is her actual job role.
She should recheck to see most of her job roles align with the duties under this NOC.

Yes, she can claim points for the two roles so far they fall under NOC 0, A or B.
Hope this helps.

ananne:
Good day. I am confused about the NOC to choose for my wife. She was a personal secretary for about a year to one of the top bosses in her place of work before she was moved to another unit as a relationship officer. She wants to claim points for the two roles as she has spent almost four years with the organisation.

Her job roles as a secretary was

• first point of contact: dealing with correspondence and phone calls
• reminds the manager/executive of important tasks and deadlines
• typing, compiling and preparing reports, presentations and correspondence
• managing diaries and organising meetings and appointments
• booking and arranging travel, transport and accommodation
• organise events and demonstrations for Blockmoulders
• managing databases and filing systems
• liaising with technical team and other staff to ensure smooth running of technical department
• collating and filing expenses.

Her job role as a relationship officer was
es of the Relationship Office
• Building and maintaining relationships with customers both whoesalers and retailers
• Managing key customers accounts and processing customer orders
• Conducting business reviews to ensure customers are satisfied with their products and services.
• Identify new opportunities and follow up new leads to further sales
• Letting customers know about other products the company offers
• Achieving customer relationship targets and KPI’s as set by the Head of Sales..
• Monitoring company performance against competition.

Please which NOCs does the roles fall under?

1. Personal secretary
2. Relationship officer.

Finally, if she finds the NOCs, I hope she can claim pints from the two of them.

They are two separate roles within the same odepartnent in the same organisation.

From my visit to the NOC page,

The similarities I saw is..

1. Personal secretary had solar roles with administrative assistant.

2. Relationship officer roles is similar to technical sales specialist.

Please help.

Thanks.

From September 1 2016 - September 1 2019 will be 3 years in the same role, if you're not in a hurry, you can apply in September after she clocks 3 years.

ananne:

Thanks for your quick response.

They are both paid jobs, full time, 40 hours per week.

The only issue is this...

She got appointment letter for the secretary job in August 7,2015. She resumed on 7th of September 2015. She worked till the end of August 2015.

She got a later for the relationship officer role in August 2016 and resumed duties September 1, 2016. She has been on the same role till date.

From this can we say that she spent at least a year as secretary? Should I start counting from the day on her appointment letter, or the day she resumed work.

Finally what do we do if her company refuse to issue a reference letter.

Looking forward to your reply.

If you want to claim two or more certificates then you'd need both your BSc and PGD.

I think you should give your school some time to sort out your transcript, enroll for PGD then send both for evaluation.

My PRE-ITA to COPR story…..the eagle just landed

ITA: 29 October, 2018
AOR: 30 October, 2018
MED/BIL: 29 November, 2018
Biometrics: 29 November, 2018
Ghost update: 12 April, 2019
PPR: 13 April, 2019 (dated 12 April) (162 days post AOR)
COPR: 7 May, 2019
Single Applicant
VO: Ottawa
No ADR

Decision to Travel.
I had completed my masters in the United States as of May 2018 and was torn between coming back to Nigeria and remaining in the US. A lot was at stake remaining in the US, one of which was the “arrangee marriage” thing (if you know you know) which I was not interested in. For personal reasons, I couldn’t get myself to being part of such scheme. I had a promising job in Nigeria before travelling to the US for my masters thus after weighing the prospects and options available to me, I decided to return to Nigeria, Yes to Nigeria *winks
I was reabsorbed in my former work place but prior to returning I encountered an Indian who told me about the express entry stuff. I read up about it and told myself that I was going to give it a shot upon returning to Naija, so doing I can be working and waiting for a positive turn around.
Came into Nigeria and commenced work. Two months after, I told myself its time to strike…Nigeria is not for you. Infact, each time I went to work and came back, Lagos Traffic kept reminding me that we are finished in this country…run run run…Thus, the endeavor began.

WES
I registered for WES on 9th September 2018, paid WES fees, and sent my U.S. master’s transcript to WES (for no fee). Yankee good. I didn’t have to deal with the WAEC palava because I had foreign masters. I sent my certificate through Hellofax to WES. My evaluation report came out on the 16th of October 2018, thus missed the October 15 draw.

IELTS
Thanks to God, I was able to demolish IELTS in one sitting at Ikeja. Scored LSWR 8.5, 8.5, 7.0, 8.5 (I for ask for remark of writing but ka o di wa, I dash British Council). Picked up my result at the BC office, 20 Thompson Ave, Ikoyi, Lagos. I used internet sources for my preparation. Basically Youtube videos and simulated prep exams which I wrote and marked using the score sheet provided online.

Upfront Medicals
I did my upfront medical at Children’s Practice Ikoyi. Booked ahead of time and got a slot for October 3. The process was quite straight forward. However, Children Practice is no longer on the list of physicians who carry out upfront medicals in Nigeria thus I will not expound on the process. The process is however similar to others.

ITA
Everything was good to go save for the ECA report thus I was pained when I couldn’t enter the pool for the anticipated October 15, 2018 draw. The WES evaluation report finally came a day after the draw. All the same I created the profile, submitted and kept waiting for a draw. On 29th October, 2018. God showed his mercy and I got an ITA.

AOR
AOR was October 30, 2018 the next day after the invite. (I no gree wait o, the journey was still a far one and I needed to start..lol)

Application Components

FBI PCC: I had been in the U.S for more than six months thus was required to submit an FBI PCC. I applied online and paid $18 as the required fee for processing. For completion of the process, a finger print card was to be completed and sent using courier. I printed the card using A4 paper, visited Alagbon police station and had them assist me in taking my prints. I sent the printed card to FBI using DHL. It cost me 18k for the courier (more expensive than the processing fee I had to pay FBI…smh…issalrit).

Nigerian PCC: I used the opportunity of doing the FBI PCC to do the Naija PCC. At Alagon Police Staion. The entire process took about an hour thirty minutes and it cost me 6k (U got to shine your eyes, this guys can even collect 20k and behave like its normal)

Reference Letter: This was quite easy for me. Of course I adapted the “Whom It May Concern” format (am I a learner?). I explained to my employers that I needed a reference for something entirely different and requested that a particular format be adopted. They asked that I prepare a draft and send to the HR. I did using the CIC format and sent same to them. My reference letter came out that same day from HR signed by the authorized officer of the firm. I was really excited.

Digital Photo: I took the digital photo at studio 24 at Awolowo and paid about N2,400 for the hardcopy and soft copy.

Travel History: Had traveled to USA, Ireland and Dubai, thus had to scan all pages of my passport with visa stamp, entry and exit stamps.

Proof of Fund (POF): For POF, I had saved a reasonable sum, up to 50% of the entire sum required plus extra. I received the remaining 50% from my mother as a gift and had a Gift Deed drafted, executed and notarized. I submitted the following documents as POF:
1. A Summary page of POF: This page contained a breakdown of my POF and the table of attachments in relation to the POF.
2. Reference Letter from Guaranty Trust Bank Plc. (GT Bank): Got this in CIC Format at GT Bank , Awolowo branch, Ikoyi, Lagos
3. Letter of Non-Indebtedness from Guaranty Trust Bank Plc. (GT Bank)
4. Bank Statement of Account from Guaranty Trust Bank Plc. (GT Bank): I printed just four months jare
5. Snap shot from XE currency converter showing Canadian equivalence of available fund.
6. Notarized Gift Deed.
7. Evidence of Transfer of funds to my GT Bank Account from my Mother’s Bank Account in pursuance of the Gift granted.

Payments
I paid upfront the required sum of about $1040 CAD for the visa, biometrics, RPPF etc .

Post AOR
After my AOR, the wait started. The then trend was that medicals took 24 to 30 days to pass. Of course thought mine was going to be so fast. In my head I had arranged a powerful application that any VO will easily navigate and grant an approval. However, the ways of CIC are not the ways of men. I gave up and waited for 30 days.
On the 29th of November, 2018, I woke up to an email from CIC that medicals have been passed and a Biometrics letter requesting that I go to the VFS centre for Biometrics. I did that on the same day at VFS Lekki on my way to work. I went with my intl. passport, two photocopies of the intl. passport, the Biometric request letter and got Biometrics done. After about 3 to 4 hours, Biometrics got updated on my application platform on the CIC website as complete.

A feat achieved, I felt good that things were gradually progressing and taking shape. I believed I was going to get a passport request latest by December, 2018. Really and truly that didn’t happen. I kept checking my application account to see if there are any changes, for where? I started studying trends on Immitracker, Candavisa and Nairaland and started making projections. Well over time I understood that there were just many variables which affected turn around times. Even some people with ghost update, who you would assume will get PPR immediately waited for almost a month.

I traveled to my hometown for the Xmas with expectations on the outlook of January 2019. The New Year commenced and the struggle intensified. I couldn’t wait to resign my job. I became irritable by the slightest but I held my peace and always told myself….it’s a matter of time.

Fast track to April 3, 2019 I called the CIC and the agent informed that my eligibility was recommended passed and security noted started. All this while, I have always been told over the call that my security and eligibility was yet to start but that my criminality and medical had been passed.

After this good news, I just had the feeling that the hour was near. On 8th of April and 11th of April, 2019, I called CIC but my status remained the same since the last update. On the 12th of April, I got to work and randomly decided to check my profile. Gbam, I saw a ghost update…. (Application/profile updated will show but when you enter your dashboard, you see no changes). At this juncture, I knew as per the current trend that my application had been approved, I raised my hands there and then and said a thank you prayer to God. I am sure my colleagues didn’t understand.

To satisfy my curiosity, on my way home, I called the CIC and the agent informed me that my file was worked on a day before and that my application was approved . He noted that the Visa Officer will reach out to me shortly on next steps. I smiled and thanked the agent. I knew from my extensive research here on Nairaland that PPR emails were usually sent at the early hours of the morning between 2am and 4am. I slept with one eye open waiting for the email to land. At 2pm, I woke up but no show. I slept back and finally at 2.30pm, I woke up, checked my phone and there was the email….Ready for Visa/Pret pour Visa from CPCO-FinalRequest.
My people, this was early Saturday. I just knelt down and began to bless the name of the Lord. (I62 days post AOR)
Snapped my passport photo at Studio 24, Lekki
Submitted the PPR letter, Intl. passport and passport photo at the VFS center, Freedom way, Lekki on Monday 15, April, 2019. Paid N17, 798 for passport transmission.

PPR to COPR
It took 2 weeks from PPT submission to have my CIC account updated. It read approved on 30 April and stated the counterfoil number and expiration date of the immigrant visa. I received notification on 1st May, 2019 that the passport had been dispatched from Accra. I then received my visa cover letter via email from Accra on 3 May, 2019 and finally the notification via sms that my processed passport was ready for collection on 6 May, 2019. I picked up the white envelope containing my passport and COPR today being 7 May, 2019.

Miscellany
Indeed this is a journey for the patient and I can’t thank my Nairaland family enough for the contributions made here. I make bold to say that there is hardly any query one may have that has not been answered in this forum. I read through thoroughly from page 1 of part 6 where I joined. God is indeed faithful and may his name alone be praised. I encourage everyone to be strong whilst praying that your Canadian dreams come to fruition.

INDEED IT HAS ENDED IN PRAISE.

For an activity driven dude like me, I'm just getting impatient with IQAS. I hate it that I can't seem to do anything. Its 81 days since my documents arrived there and no response. Although current trends suggests that I'll be attended to in the next 20/30 days, I'm just not having all of that. Plus having my IELTS in the bag is making it worse.

I called them yesterday and I was attended to by an apology of a customer care agent. I immediately moved to twitter to send the Government of Alberta (my future Government) a DM. I also sent IQAS mails.

My mind is already putting together a back up plan with WES, I'm thinking of going the 2 or more certificate way, my LLB and Law School but the money no be here, plus I'll lose points (454 to 447)which means soon-to-be Mrs A would have to write IELTS (another 68k).

I'm not even as agitated about my wedding that cojes up in 16 days time, as I am about IQAS. This Canada just has to be worth it. The city of Calgary is blessed for my sake! The legal services industry is blessed for me!

That we shall succeed is as sure as God reigns!

#AfternoonRant.

I called IQAS last week to ask concerning my application and i was told they are currently opening applications received in January. Patience remains key on this journey...it will end in praise.
Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 7 by raphrulz: 11:32am On May 08, 2019
Hmmm... Just so u know...

The fact that you have gotten bio-metrics notification and medicals passed is no complete indicator that R10 is completed.

I have reviewed more than 100 GCMS to tell you that with 100 percent certainty.

Uploading your ECA report is the best decision you made.

The chance of rejection is very high if you don't upload that document.

Cheers**

johnnybravo1990:
Concerning the issue of whether uploading ECA is a must, maybe this will throw more light.
Just to refresh our minds, I didn't upload my ECA report when I submitted u application; I only uploaded my degree certificate. But as advised by people in this forum, I was to raise a CSE to add my ECA report, and I did all that, not minding that I had filled in my ECA details--ECA certificate number and date of issue of ECA report--when I submitted my application.
The CSE was raised for the ECA a week ago. However, I got my Medicals passed and biometrics requested just 2 days after the CSE and even completed my biometrics three days later, even when the CSE had not been attended to. The response for the CSE was just received some hours ago (1 day after
my biometrics completion), as seen in the picture below.
I think this should once and for all prove wrong the argument that uploading ECA in your application is compulsory to prevent application rejection by virtue of an incomplete application (R10 completeness check). I still maintain that the most important document for your proof of education is your uploaded degree certificate and ECA details being asked of; if ECA upload was vital for a complete application, I wouldn't have gotten Biometrics request.

Use the NOC website and search for your job title (or other words similar to what your current job title is), look through the duties and see if it aligns with your current job description.

Use this - https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/eligibility/find-national-occupation-code.html

PPR Post!!!

I specifically created a login just to post my PPR gist. I have been reading FOC since grin

Background: Been hearing about Canada migration since 2016, but didn't follow up because work was sweeting me. Then we had a massive layoff in our office in 2017 and even though I wasn't affected, it shook my soul. I decided in January 2018 that lai lai I will get Canada pally even if I don't use it.

Genesis: January 2018, I started by opening a mutual funds account in my daughters name and moved all my savings into it. In February, I checked CRS calculator and realized that as PA, my husband didn't need to do anything and we would get a score of 451. Then I decided I would do Wes from March Salary, IELTS from April Salary and hopefully apply in July and get our pally before December (God laughed at my puny plans). All these stories, I didn't tell my husband oh. After all, he did not need to do chin chin.

Exodus: Started WES oh, didn't know that I did not need to verify Naija cert since I had foreign Masters. I started Uniben wahala, as usual "Madam, we don't have your transcript". I couldn't believe it, which transcript did you send to the school abroad when I did Masters, they were looking at me as if to say when you finish your confusion, you will sort it out. I sha paid about 30k and got it sent to WES within 6 weeks, meanwhile oyinbo school had sent to WES within 1 week. For IELTS, I got exam date of May 12th, aced first attempt with LWSR - 9,7.5,8,9. I was on a roll (or so I thought). Jumped into the pool in June and got ITA immediately by June 25th (ghen ghen!!!). At this point, hubby was aware and just watching me as if to say "well done oh".

Leveticus: I guess I didn't do thorough research, because part of my mind was still in Naija, getting promotions at work with salary increase. When all the placeholders appeared, I saw placeholders for 3 foreign police reports for hubby and I (Yepa!!!). I had to start that research, finally able to pay for it and they said it would take 3 weeks. I sha wanted to ensure I submit before the whole biometrics tingy would be implemented. So within that 3 weeks, I did naija police report, did medicals at IOM July 5th and started filling the forms. I am not a patient person, I wasn't thorough with filling the forms, I couldn't remember all the information of where I lived in the last 10yrs, bla bla. I was just filling my parents house address. Hubby could not remember his either, I was calling my inlaws to confirm stuff about him. Finally, everything was complete and POF sorted (a lot of garri was soaked to complete POF as entire months salaries were just being shook inside the mutual funds account).

Numbers: July 26th, I submitted application oh and started planning for December movement (God definitely was chuckling quite loudly at this point).

Deuteronomy: Medicals passed Aug 15th cool (3 weeks from AOR)

Joshua...Malachi (Sept - Dec): Dead Silence

Matthew (January): 6 months elapsing, raised CSE to find out Visa office and was told Accra. I just decided to forget it and started planning a vacation. I cannot comangoand kill myself. My friends asked what would happen if I were told to bring my passport while away, I Yimu'd them and continued my plans for Feb vacation. Even had the temerity to take from my POF to pay for ticket and accommodation (is it CIC's moneyrme).

Mark (February); Middle of vacation Feb 22nd, gba gam! I saw Accra Famous 5 request, I don't think anyone has completed POF the way I did. I swear down, my POF was back to 120% within 6hours from receiving the letter. I delayed though and didn't sent my response until I returned in March.

Luke....Jude (March - April): Silence, even though lots of people were celebrating PPR, I started fearing oh and criticizing my own application. In fact I told all my friends that we would be denied. I had already started calculating WES cost to convert hubby's foreign certificates as our scores would have dropped due to my age increasing and that would bring it back up, so we could reapply.

Revelation (May 7th 11:11am): donotreply@cic popped up on my browser and on logging in, finally finally finally. However we have been constrained to travel before medicals expires shocked

Thats my PPR Story 9MONTHS AND 11DAYS. The Lord has Favored me indeed.

I called IQAS last week to ask concerning my application and i was told they are currently opening applications received in January. Patience remains key on this journey...it will end in praise.

Please what number did you use ? Mine was delivered 1st of February, 2019 but no response till now. I've been trying to reach them for a week now with these numbers +1866927057, +17804272655 I got from their website but not reachable. kindly provide the number you called them with if its different from these one.

Please, if they hospital request that you do additional test, do you pay additional or it is part of the initial payment?

Good day everyone I just wanted to ask this, I am in the process of getting my nce, which I plan on evaluating with either iqas or ices( I'm not ready for neco wahala). I have already evaluated my BSc with wes. My question is if I add this new certificate from different bodies will it be recognized as two or more degrees.
