Suanu's Blog

The Emir of Kano State, Muhammadu Sanusi II may be dethroned soon, Suanu's Blog reports.

This is due to an ongoing probe into the finances of the emirate under him. The probe is been done by the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission. The commission had alleged the misappropriation of N6 billion by the Kano emirate council “without the approval of the state government”. Suanu's Blog gathered that the probe, which was halted in 2017, has now been revived. If Sanusi is found guilty of any financial impropriety, he stands a chance of been deposed.

The move is believed to have some political undertunes following allegations that Emir Sanusi worked with some PDP leaders and members during the last governorship elections that narrowly led to the defeat of incumbent Governor Ganduje.

Amidst the probe, Suanu's Blog reports that the size of the emirate under Emir Sanusi has also been reduced to 10 out of 44 local government areas (LGAs) in the state. This was made possible through a new that was almost immediately signed into law by the State Governor.

According to the bill by the Kano state house of assembly, the state now has five emirates: Kano, Rano, Gaya, Karaye and Bichi and five emirs of equal jurisdiction.

Kano emirate headed by Sanusi has 10 local governments: Kano Municipal, Tarauni, Dala, Nassarawa, Fagge, Gwale, Kumbotso, Ungogo, Dawakin Kudu and Minjibir.

Kano and Rano emirates will control 10 local governments each while Gaya, Karaye and Bichi will control eight, seven and nine local government areas respectively.

Among the new division, Rano emirate will control Rano, Bunkure, Kibiya, Takai, Sumaila, Kura, Doguwa, Tudun Wada, Kiru, Bebeji.

Gaya emirate has Gaya, Ajingi, Albasu, Wudil, Garko, Warawa, Gezawa, Gabasawa LGAs.

Karaye, Rogo, Gwarzo, Kabo Rimin Gado, Madobi, Garun Malam LGAs will be under the Karaye emirate.

Bichi emirate will control Bichi, Bagwai, Shanono, Tsanyawa, Kunchi, Makoda, Danbatta, Dawakin Tofa, Tofa local governments.

Emir Sanusi was yet to react to this strange development.

That's what u get when you are being partisan. Sanusi should have learnt from what happened to Olubadan
This kinda treatment is what befall any king that doesn't respect himself politically.

. What you and likes don't know is that,Sanusi was already made so his love and respect should be with the peoples and not to the powers that be,if such won't speak up against tyrany and incompetence then whom do you expect to speak for you yet religious and political affiliation has denied you of rational reasoning.

This is good!
Sanusi simply reaped what he sowed. His interference in Kano guber election was the straw that broke the camel's back. I hate to think with idiots that it was because of his good role as the CBN governor that fools perceive was against GEJ. Whatever he did then was simply good for Nigeria.
Splitting the Kano emirate is not bad at all. People are complaining because the controversial Sanusi is the Emir of Kano at the time it happened. This is good for local traditional institutions. Will strengthened its effectiveness and is ultimately good for the local people of the state. For this act, Ganduje has immortalized his name in Kano and posterity will always remember "he was the gov that split the ancient Kano emirate into 5 modern emirates".

Their problem their head ache.
If Gandollar wants, let him create another 5 emirates, that doesn't translate to sound education for the ever-increasing almajiris.

I will only take them serious when they create more schools and Vocational Training Centres, and not emirates.

I have never understood why so many commentators on this subject comfort themselves with the emboldened statement above.
Curious still is that you then proceed to proclaim: Whatever he did then was simply good for Nigeria.
Do you see the contradiction here? grin grin grin

Moving swiftly on, Sanusi had my firm support when he brought the horrifyingly unprecedented levels of corruption which bestrode GEJ's stewardship into sharp focus. For this, I will forever be grateful.

What posterity will also recall, however, is that despite his new found status as an arrowhead of fiscal transparency in our nation; his embrace of a feudal system which oscillates along its own axis, ultimately became his undoing. Now before anyone dares to suggest that it is the circumstances surrounding his birth which predisposed him to embracing an institution with its own archaic set of rules, after leaving the CBN, let it be known that we all have free will. grin After all, when all is said and done; his choice to arrest the 'progressive thinking' which had previously shaped his outlook, for the trappings and adulation of royal office, was his and his alone.

Another Governor and house of Assembly will still undo what this senile looter is doing, he should ask Governor Ajumobi of Oyo State. Gan Dollar will surely loose out in Supreme Court since Appeal Court is now in the pocket of APC.
