Pardon me. Haven't done a change of name too and all documents are still in my maiden name. No affidavit nor newspaper publication. Doing this process to in my maiden name and spouse is accompanying. We don't have to put anything in that section since we don't have any backup abi?

Oakville19:

I also have my maiden name on my passport, however I inputed my married name in the section that asks have you used another name, this triggers a file upload section for change of name documents in which I attached my change of name affidavit and publication and a LOE for why my passport was still in my maiden name although I have done name change. I have gotten my PPR. Not sure if this is necessary though if you did not upload any supporting documentation with your married name.

I think you should just redo your IELTS. Apparently, you have not hit the 8777.

I just confirmed I’m eligible for SINP but I don’t have a family tie there. My score is 68. Can anyone advise if I should try this option? Although myself and hubs already planned to rewrite IELTS to push our CRS score to 472, our score is currently 402
First IELTS 8.5, 7.5, 6.5, 6.5

See human errors.

Liz2014:
I'm sorry, looks like I forgot to add that this is a paper based provincial nomination application, he was not required to attach proof of funds when he applied for PR as this was fulfilled as part of province process. We confirmed this from them as it was not included in his checklist, but he kept his funds intact anyways as per the province. And yes, you can add spouse and declare as non-accompanying (it's your choice) I respect their decision to do that. The reason he listed her as non-accompanying was because the wife was in a masters program in UI waiting to defend her project. He felt his PR was near as he had gotten a ghost update a week before his wedding, they were not sure what to expect and his medicals expires July. The plan was to come here and sponsor the wife. He rightly notified them and they kept mute about it.

Invitations are not based on luck now. Once your CRS is at or above the score for that draw, you'll get ITA. The only exception is if your score is exactly at the score of the draw and tie breaking rule affects you

Raise CSE and upload the siblings PR card, utility bills etc. I believe there is a post here with all the documents that’d help show proof of their relationship.

ADR is at the discretion of the agent handling the case. It’s more like a privilege not a right.

I don’t know if there are any rules against this but to further solidify the proof, she can show proof of relationship of both siblings.

Thanks for the response. She initially uploaded pr card and utility bills.

I can't believe this. In just 3 months. A huge congratulations to you.

DrMrsCK:
Chai! I missed page 11? My PPR will be in this part 7. Meanwhile, posting this for my friend...

I want to share my story to encourage someone
The taught about relocation to Canada was initiated in early 2015 by my Hubby's friend who had just relocated to Canada. At first I refuted the idea cos I just started a new business and my master's degree program. I imaged dropping them just like that. However, after must pressure and explanation from hubby I gave in, then the journey started.
I decided to follow it through two strategies: firstly to write my licencing exams from naija and get a job n migrate, secondly, to go through express entry.

In December 2015, I wrote my first ielts. It was a terrible experience. I came to the exam hall by 8.45am only to meet a closed exam hall. We were abt 25 candidates who came late. The examiner asked us to go, after much pleading we were allowed to enter the hall, but our listening was conducted separate. I didn't do well at all cos of I was tensed.

Then in 2016 I started again with 2nd ielts ( LRWS 7.5,6.5,7.5,cool, document evaluation, online classes for licensing exams and exam registration. I then applied for Canada visa to go n write the exam but was rejected twice n I missed the exam. I was depressed. At that point we decided to quit the process n focus in naija.

However, in 2017 we decided to just enter the pool.
Our crs score was 395, I decided to leave it like that and continue my life hoping that one day the score will drop.

In Jan 2018, my Hubby's colleague told him that his is relocating to Canada with his family next month.
That news made my hubby to start having a rethink abt continuing but I convinced him otherwise n told him that we should remain focused on our new year resolution, so he agreed.
Then 2 weeks later a customer told me she was relocating to Canada too in May. This news woke me up from my slumber. Then we decided to start all over. At this point I surfed the net to find out ways to improve my scores. My hubby did ielts n document evaluation.
My ielts journey began again in 2018
3rd ielts attempt march 24 LRWS 6.5,7,6.5,7
4th attempt May 24 LRWS 7,7,7,7
Then I took I month leave to study, I read every every, full of confidence. I booked two exams one week apart. Hoping that one must be good as I was determined to enter Canada by all means
5th attempt June 30th LRWS 8,7,6,7
6th attempt July 7th LRWS 8.5,7,6.5,7
I wept bitterly at this point, hw with encouragement from family n friends I was more determined. Then my brother in-law paid for my 7th attempt to encourage me. I read my ass out, hired a tutor to Mark my essay wrote over 50 essays as I figured out that writing was my problem. I even did group reading with an old friend who was also writing ielts to make sure I pass( u know that feeling when someone is paying you don't want to fail). I also tripled my prayers.
7th attempt August 18th LRWS 9,8,6.5,7.5
At this point I didn't cry neither was I depressed I decided to quit, perhaps Canada is not for me. My friend talked said one word that struck me " I don't know abt you but am not quitting " . then I decided to do it one last time. She also told me abt mod ielts I decided to give it a trial as its been BC all along. My brother in-law paid for my ielts again, then I booked the exam. I had only a week to prepare. At that point I decided to stick to only one technique. I also applied for EOR .
8th attempt 8th September mod LRWS 8.5,7.5,7,7.5
This was the turning point
I updated my profile on 2nd Oct my score rose to 470
ITA 3rd Oct
AOR 28th November
Passed medicals 7th jan 19
Biometrics 10th Jan 19
PPR on 24th Jan 19
Submitted passport on 28th Jan 19
Passport ready on 16th Feb 19
Collected passport on 18th Feb

I thank God for every thing, n all my family n friends especially nairalanders your stories n suggestions were really helpful.
Don't give up your miracle is on the way.

Hello e-Family , please I will need your advice on this matter: In a situation where someone is working in a family business and was receiving the salary of 100k+ over the counter payment from 2016_2019 , and in March 2019, he decided that they start paying his salary via bank payment and he is planning to enter the pool this year.. Please how do he present this case in his application. And how to go about it if they request for famous 5 ?
Will payslip be enough, since he doesn't has proof of bank deposit from 2016- Feb 2019
Please help. Thank you all.

My CA quest began in December 2017 with Ielts, I knew about the EE process before then but was uninterested initially. I took up the challenge when I realised that I didn't want to ever regret not taking on the opportunity at the right time.

IELTS
I wrote the exam a whooping 4 times which actually felt like 40 times. The first was with BC, I wasn't prepared but I aced all except Listening. For the want of nearer dates, I went on to MOD for the second attempt which in my opinion was a wrong decision and all sections were fine except Writing. This happened again the third time and I dashed back to BC and aced all. I remember someone telling me after my third ielts attempt that maybe God did not want me to go, well I just gave a blank look, nodded and thought to myself that if I wasn't going to make it to Canada as a PR, it wouldn't be ielts to stop me. After my fourth attempt, I wasnt sure of my performance, so I filled Nova Scotia forms in preparation for the site to open; also wrote down the required TEF scores to boost my CRS. I wasnt giving up. Don't let that stumbling block deter you. Keep pushing and your success is sure.
Practice, as they say, makes perfect and if you know what you want, you'd never stop till you get it. If ielts is still in your way to achieving this dream, make up your mind and never give up on it.

ECA
I have a Masters degree with a U.K university which made WES a ready option. I registered on WES website and faxed in my certificate. I requested transcripts from my school via email which I didn't have to pay for. ECA was ready in record time without hitches.

MEDICALS
Had my medicals at Children's Practice. I arrived the hospital before 8am, doors opened at 8am and we were attended to according to a list of how we placed our bookings. We were given tellers to pay at the bank; I paid and returned for my tests. I completed the entire procedure at about 10am.

PCC
Inspector Moshood to the rescue for this. I was done with it in 30 minutes and I paid N4000.00.

POF
I booked treasury bills for my POF and got a reference letter from my bank in cic format. I got a request format from page one, drafted it, signed and sent to my account officer. I merged the treasury bills certificate and bank reference letter for POF.

EMPLOYMENT DETAILS
I claimed a continuous 3 years from one NOC and got a reference letter from my employer in the required format. I merged the letter with my offer letter, promotion letters, pay slips and I.D.

EDUCATION
I merged ielts TRF, WES ECA, MBA certificate and first degree certificate.

DIGITAL PHOTO
I see a lot of people snapping and uploading passport photos in the format for POST-PPR. I did the same and later realised it wasn't necessary since the hard copies are only required POST-PPR. Please there's no need to get hard copy passport photo until you get PPR; you can use an old one but just make sure it in the required size.

I submitted my application on 27th July 2018, then the wait began!
I requested GCMS notes directly from ATIP in September (at $5) which came in October, exactly one month after (someone living in Canada has to apply for you and you'd need to sign a consent form authorising CIC to release your information to them). The notes revealed that everything looked good except that file had been transferred to AVO.
My application clocked 6 months on Jan. 27th and I emailed AVO and received the generic 'file is in queue for review' email response. I also emailed some MPs including Ralph and Ahmed Hussein; received generic responses from them too and no further details.

On Thursday 21st February, ADRs started flooding in for July AORs.
I received mine on 22nd, it was for the same set of documents; 5 in number (we tagged them 'famous five'):
*Pay slips from employer for the period of assessment
Period of assessment was really confusing so I sent pay slips from when I started the role till date.(4years plus)
*Bank statements showing salary from employer
I didn't know if this was meant to be the same as the pay slips but I decided to send 6 months statement from present day; I highlighted salary payments as requested.
*Updated proof of funds
I had rebooked treasury bills upon expiration so I went to the bank for a reprint of the certificate (just so it would have present date), I merged this with a reference letter in CIC format which I also got from the bank on that day. Reference letter stated my salary account balance, average six months balance and treasury bills.
*Schedule A Background Declaration form (IMM 5669) bearing an original signature for you and your spouse. Please ensure there are no gaps in time.
Filled this, printed, signed and scanned.
*Additional Family Info IMM5406: A separate and newly completed Additional Family Information form (IMM5406) bearing original signatures for you and your spouse.
Also filled, printed, signed and scanned.

I submitted the ADR February 25th and we all thought we'd get PPR in a few days but AVO wasn't done yet; the wait continued. Then in the week of April 8th 2019, the rain started. Daily, we counted over 10 PPRs mostly May, June and July AORs.

Then it happened!!!
I received the golden mail!!!
I have been so overwhelmed.

Here's my timeline:
ITA:  July 25th 2018
AOR: July 27th 2018
MEP: Aug 20th 2018
IP1: Aug 20th 2018
Requested GCMS: Sep 26 2018; received Oct 29th 2018 (ATIP)
ADR: Feb 22nd 2019
ADR submission: Feb 25th 2019
IP2: Apr 10th 2019
PPR: Apr 15th 2019
Passport submitted: Apr 17th 2019
Application Approved: Apr 30th 2019
COPR received: May 8th 2019

So why AVO? I read in different places that straightforward applications were treated in Ottawa which is the fastest VO and complicated ones were sent to local visa offices that would better understand the culture and expectations of the area. Well if having previous visa refusals from U.S and France are complicated, then I guess that criteria is correct. In my opinion though, every application is different and it might just be a thing of timing and luck to determine where applications are sent to. Most importantly, the only thing consistent about IRCC is inconsistency. On the other hand, the AVO trend has kinda changed so don't be downcast if your application is sent there, just trust God that all will end well.

I'm grateful to all contributors here, you guys are angels. God bless you all and release your PPRs too. Amen!!!
