Following the purported suspension of the 27 Local Government Chairmen in Imo State by the State House of Assembly, a group operating under the auspice of Imo Dynamic Forum (IDF) has called on the State House of Assembly to apologise to the Council Chairmen and revisit their decision or they will shut down the state. Jude Opara, the Co-ordinator of the group, while addressing Journalists in Owerri said that IDF members disassociated themselves from the decision of the House of Assembly and described the purported suspension as a ploy to siphon the council treasury as parting gills for the expiration of their tenure as legislators. Opara made it clear that “the House of Assembly has no right to suspend the LGA Chairmen and no section of Nigeria Constitution authorised them to suspend the chairmen”, pointing out that the LGA Chairmen were duly elected as the executive chairmen of the various Local Government Council. He described the allegation levied against the LGA Chairmen by the State lawmakers termed “gross misconduct bothering on financial misappropriation and other related offenses” as false, blackmail tend to tarnish the image of the Chairmen. He also urged the Imo lawmakers “not to engage in an act that will cause problem in the state” and urged the general public to disregard the decision of the State House of Assembly. https://www.independent.ng/threat-to-shut-down-imo-before-okorochas-exit-thickens/

which yeye LG chairmen  in the first instance, their appointment was a sham and the joke of the century... Rochas hurriedly appointed them, so that they will vote for his son in-law during the APC primares.. that plan backfired... he moved his son-in-law to AA and hoped that this same LG chairmen would help rig the election in their respective lGA's, his plan backfired once again.... now they are of no use to him so he is trying to discard all of them...... Hotzone:okorocha is a frustrated man. he has lost relevance within his people. now the people he aligned with against his people have turned against him. it hasn't been the very best of time for Owelle, I am one of the greatest critics of Rochas but I wonderwhy Tinubu and Oshomole doesn't want Rocha's to have his way in IMO state. if Tinubu can make his wife senator, install and uninstall governors at will what's different in Rochas case. A big lesson to Igbo politician of APC. they new had Rochas had his way his political influence in APC will grow which will make him the overall APC leader in south east there by increasing his overall stake in APC, positioning him for the southern battle for 2023 presidency.
