Not true. I called uber and they said year 2000 upwards goes, but I was specific about the car brand when I called, though I want to assume it cuts across. However can't say same for bolt.

Is the car good for the business pls? Advice needed

To be honest most cars are good for the business if the owner is driving, where you have to take several things into consideration is if you're not driving and giving it out for rental.

Completely agree. Someone here just confirmed he was delivering 30k weekly with 2.4ltr engine. Imagine if he was driving his own car?

The last guy like you boasts of netting 120k weekly consistently for 6 months & he disappeared the same month. This happened February this year o & less than 3 months, fare has been reduced. You're here ranting about netting 3k daily & feeling high.
It is understandable that 3k under A/c compared to your previous job is heaven on earth for you but body go tell you later on that driving long hours for such amount daily will ruin your health. It is probably less than a year you started driving, I have been driving since 2008! & many others here have driven longer years yet you think they are lazy & should leave young energetic former bricklayer on the job.
Listen kid, hustle while you can but be smart enough to consider the future. Back in 2016/17 drivers takes 1/2 days off a week to rest and flex their hustle money, I bet you can sleep 8hrs straight now without driving in your dreams.
Come 2/3 months, another pure water seller will flood the thread again & be happy to be making 1500 daily under a/c. Be wise kid

Let me help you once again, I make 3k net after my food, phone card, and others. I make sure I save 3k everyday. That 3k is minimum, for me I'm very okay with it. At least they say little drop of water make an ocean.

3x7=21 that is the least.

Most Fridays/Saturdays/Sundays, I make between 7-10k net after food, call cards and others.

Those weekends give me 20k net easily.

Factory workers can't save this type of money, working on a site can't save you this type of money.

pope191 if working on a site didn't tell on my body, why will driving affect me so much. Its not your body it's my body leave it for me.

If you call it suffering/slavery let it be for me, it's good, it won't be like this forever.

With all due respect my oga, I am not holding him, I don't even believe he is not an imposter, so I spit out my mind from a direct and general view, waiting for his response. 10 partners obviously do not speak for all, but I don't like luck, I prefer figures so I don't involve in uncalculated risk, for me a bird in hand is far worth going for an unforseen circumstances, like you will never appreciate that 1 naira in your hand until you lost it in search of 3 naira.

On hawking: I know or a pepper seller, that have been able to send her children to university and build a house using profit from what she sells, same goes for a charcoal seller. What I'm about to type is wrong to me, but let me drive my point and burst ur bubble... There is a man that hawk plantain ard first gate on lateef jakande road, when I learnt he built his house doing that, I took a second look at him, so life is relative, do yours and let other people be. Imagine what's life for someone that felt he have arrived with a daily target of 3k including his expenses, I'm not saying there is no room for improvement, but a wise soul coming from where he claimed will have some level of apprehensiveness in them and not total anticipation.

pope191 I think this business, drivers only put in the energy and make money.

Me for example, I didn't start Uber with any investment, my investment was 25k for drivers license.

Even the phone, I have to pay it of after I start work.

From my own point of view, I'm only saying is a good business for me as a driver. If partners are not making money, I don't know.

Meanwhile it was dry yesterday, but still came home with something.

Those 10 partners do not speak for all the partners on uber/bolt .. The only regret I have is hiring a crazy, bleaching, stealing manager.. But it is part of the learning curve, when you are new in a business, people will take advantage of you..
Let the young man enjoy doing what he is doing.. Uber is for young guys out there ... I support him and at least he is not robbing people out there... now if uber is slavery what do think about those people hawking stuff on the hot sun everyday, how much do you think those guys are making... am sure guys like that if given the chance to do uber.. They will jump at it with no problem ... I will rather be doing uber than hawking stuff under the hot .. Let the young man do him...

You would be surprised. Ask around.

Uber is 2000 and above

Bolt is 2003 and above

If you want to work on both platforms, it is best to get from 2003 and above

You need to increase your budget then go for a Honda Civic like dru grin

You can do rental for a while and save diligently.

Or go for Hire Purchase but be careful because of terms and conditions.

Whatever you do be careful not to end up with a lemon lipsrsealed

Earnings Breakdown
14-16hours online
Gross Earnings: 12,000
Uber commission 25% of 12, 000 = 3000
Taxify commission 15% of 12,000 = 1800

Less fuel of 2500-3000

Let's work with lowest if 2500

Therefore;
Uber Net Earnings = 6,500
Taxify Net Earnings = 7,700

Less Rental
35,000 ÷ 7 = 5000 (Daily)
30,000 ÷ 7 = 4;285.7 (Daily)

Less work with lowest again;

Uber Net Earnings = 6,500 - 4, 285.7 = 2, 214.3
Taxify Net Earnings = 7,700- 4, 285.7 = 3414.7

Feeding ( Each meal) 300 using Jesusson figure.

Morning 300
Evening 300
Total feeding 600

Uber Net = 2, 214.3 - 600 = 1, 614.3
Taxify Met = 3,414.7 - 600 = 2,814.7

Card (200)

Uber : 1,614.3 - 200 = 1,413.3
Taxify : 2,814.7 - 200 = 2,614.7

Net Profit of 14-16 hours on Uber & Taxify

UBER : 1,413.3
TAXIFY : 2, 614.7

The question now is, is it worth it to work for 14-16hrs to go home with 1,413.3 Or 2,614 at the end of the stressful long day.

Guy I just Duff my hat for you. U know each time I see earning Dem dey make me feel over lazy or say my own corrolla dey over consume fuel. dough I dey earn slightly higher but na 5am I dey enter road position and I dey enter over late. Though some days dey bera Dan some but in general U just hit the very Koko.,

Well let it be sha ... the young man reminds me of my younger days.. I was very business minded, made mistakes along the way ,and I learn from them.. So it is ok for him now , it is a start.. I will tell you for sure that he is a lot smarter than most drivers that work for me in past .. I think he would have use the opportunity very well that those drivers started with me didnt use.. And I also ask the young man to contact me but he didn't. At least he could have made an effort to contact me ,which is fine and too late ..those are the type of mistakes he will make and learn from ....never turn down a business offer until you hear the person talk.. And always keep business relationship open ..coz you will never know 2morrow ...have learn that the Nigerian business culture is backwards at times.
So basically let the young man roam ...if he is smart enough, he will learn and adapt..

So hawking gala is profitable than driving Uber, you are only saying this to make the business look so bad.

For car owners, pls I'm not speaking for you... I speak for drivers, we drivers have nothing to lose, we just put in our energy and make money.

Even if you own your car. All your earnings is not your profit.

I agree with you on that ...most partners end up spending profits on repairs... I have learn to keep my maintenance low enough to avoid eating my profits below are examples

1. Good mechanic : if you can get a trust worthy mechanic, your maintenance will be low ..in the past I had horrible mechanics, the same problem that was fix two weeks is still an issue three weeks later... mechanics can greatly contribute negatively to the business

2. Proper maintenance : anything that goes wrong with the cars I fix them asap..... Also engine oil is very important, it is one of the life support of the vehicle.. I only do oil change every 12k miles on all my uber cars .. Using Mobil 1 oil extended performance has been a life saver for me ..

3. Good drivers : drivers also play important role too .. If you have a driver that does give a poo ,trust me your car will suffer greatly..

4. Types of car : The civic and the elantra has been one of the best cars for me so far , especially the civic due to my landing cost been very attractive.. I love the civic landing cost, I love it. I love it too much ...

A lot of them are not making good profit.. Due to the fact that most of them lack maintenance culture.. Most don't care about the business. They just want to make money.. Maintenance is a big factor in this business.. If you don't maintain your car ,it will be a matter of time before the car gives up ... most corolla you see on uber are ticking time bomb ...most partners feel that since corolla is a strong car , the car gets abuse a lot and people fail to know that with rite amount of abuse any strong car will eventually come to a halt.. Just a matter of time
