You do have a point, but yahoo is not the answer to corruption. If you read how the drug cartels started in Mexico, it has similarities with this Yahoo boys. First, people didn't give a damn about them, cos the were only scamming foreigners, now the don't care whether you be Foreigner or Nigerian and the even kill to increase the efficacy of their juju. We shouldn't substitute one monster for another, Corrupt politicians and Yahoo boys are bad people fullstop. |

hungryboy:I never said yahoo is the solution to corruption...i only said corruption is the mother of yahoo, yahoo is as a result of joblessness and poor economy which is as a result of corruption in Nigeria's case...now which one is easier and would be a long term solution ![]() 1.Create employment, and empowerment...mind you the government would have to cut down his salaries and stupid allowances by 50% for a start among others to achieve this 2.be chasing yahoo boys one by one...assumably yahoo boys are millions in numbers Long term solution to long term problems only...unfortunately that's not the Nigerian way... Unemployment problem...nigeria solution (N power) Poverty....nigeria solution(trader money)... See the government is dumb and corrupt...to be realistic we all know yahoo has come to stay until the government/people are fully ready for a new Nigeria... Yahoo is not the problem Govt is |

Yahoo boys are also a problem, due to their activities, Nigerians are banned from many online platforms that could provide 'em a source of income. Talking of employment, even if jobs are created, Yahoo boys won't care to apply, because their illicit dealings pays more than a legal job. |

hungryboy:Don't mind him, it's easy to say it. Don't they have fraudstars in America? Make them give everybody work, people who just derive pleasure from it will still do it and make more money. There is no excuse to doing yahoo yahoo. There was a time i was not working, na my babe (who i eventually married) they give me money then, even buy my clothes until level changed. Today, i work in a multinational firm. For almost about 4 to 5 years i was in widerness, why i nor do yahoo? Sometimes, i do not have as little as 5 naira. If mumsi nor give me, my babe then go support me. There was a Christmas my younger bro bought a jean for me. Today i drive my own car among other things. WHY I NOR DO YAHOO? Back then in the university i worked in one cyber cafe, i did something to a friend (one of our customer & my hotel mate) who wanted to defraud a white mexican woman and i stylishly copied her e-mail address. I mailed her not to trust the guy or pay him and the woman said she has been suspecting him too but she wasn't sure. she thank me for me. I didn't get a dime from her but i couldn't stand it, i just felt sorry for her based on what she was going to fall into. Anyone reading this may say i am a betrayal but trust me, i know i did the right thing. Yahoo is not just fraud but WICKEDNESS!! |

hungryboy:True enough, the solution is to enforce integrity in the society, first any politician caught stealing public funds should be beheaded live on NTA. Once the Governmental fraudsters are checked, then any Yahoo boy caught should be jailed indefinitely. |

Life imprisonment for corrupt public officers and fraudsters would stop this menace! And..Nigerians should stop bearing children they cannot cater for adequately. |

Nigeria's problems don't have any foreseeable solution. Let's even assume yahoo boys are our biggest problem. Who are the people supposed to deal with them? EFCC? Police? I laugh. The average animal in EFCC is richer than the average yahoo boy and all the top dogs in the EFCC are multi billionaires... ask me how if you're foolish. The average policeman who 'catches' a yahoo boy is only after bribes. The average mumu magistrate or judge who would hear any Internet fraud related case is only interested in receiving the biggest bribe possible. The lawyers on both sides (both the yahoo boy's lawyer and the EFCC's or Police prosecutor's lawyer) are only interested in how much money they can extort from the suspect to pervert justice. The system is useless. Yahoo boys are our least problem as a country. |
