Ritual killing is on a constant rise in the country
and mainly spearheaded by the popular illegal
profiteering group called Yahoo+/yahoo boys.
It has involved the kidnap, murder and use of
material and human waste products as exchange
in the money ritual.
Causes of this are attributed to the failed political/state structure, high value system placed on
money and economic pressures in Nigeria.
Our findings show that government policies and
security agencies are insufficient & have failed to tackle
this social problem on a greater scale which daily
threatens our security of life.
This then induces a fearful and suspicious
environment amongst people, and possible
occurrence of their operations is kidnapping
victims at lonely places, clubs, transport fares,
streams, etc.

With these facts tabled, our organization believe
that it is possible to counter and curb this menace
with the contributions & involvement of the public
because if we keep treating this with ignorance,
complain and leaving it all up to the government &
its agencies, there is 70% probability that there still
will be many victims and only few culprits
apprehended.

So we ask the public & members of nairaland to
give their comment/opinion/recommendations on
what possible tactics, innovation or policy that can help curb or eliminate this problem of ritual
killing ?
even jungle justice isn't enough.

We should bear in mind that population is on a
geometric increase, and there is a teaming
population of youths (from secondary & university
schools) who with the current economic & peer
pressures and political instability are liable to be
applicants/recruits to the group and why ? because
there is high end revenue to be made from it
excluding the consequences. And thus, beg the question who will be the next victim from now and
the following year ?
