Guendouzi was good yesterday. Bossed the midfield with rampaging runs from the deep to connect the front line, something Ozil can never give you.
Sometimes it's easy to forget that he is but a teenage who took a big leap from French ligue 2 to EPL.

He is rough, but maybe there is a diamond underneath that unglittering surface of his that usually makes him subject to fans condemnation. Perhaps I was wrong in thinking he wouldn't turn out well, or maybe I wasn't. Time will tell. But I certainly enjoyed watching him yesterday.
i think he play well with people of his calibre if you see the midfield yesterday it was the guys he play with in europa and carabao cup so he doesn't need to over do.

Sometimes I just wonder if some people understand the meaning of opinion?

Ozil cannot make runs with the ball from the deep to upfront. He is lazy, weak, lethargic and easily bullied and shoved off the ball by opponents.
Guendouzi direct style of play offered Arsenal alot yesterday and showed us a glimpse of the team we can be, if we get top class midfielders capable of doing such against best opponents.

Ozil is a ghost, a dead walking corpse on the pitch. The earlier he leaves Arsenal, the bette for us.

The reason why some fans wouldn't like players like iwobi and Guen is they are among the few who tries to take risk and do something even the big men in the team are either scared or unable to do.

Iwobi tries to take his man on,dribble and shoot, 7 out of 10 times he fails at it,(He isn't world class and still growing and learning)and fans conclude he is trash..

Guen tries to hold the ball( gets fouled or dispossessed), tries forward splitting pass( 6out of 10 times fails at it) tries to drive forward (gets fouled or dispossessed). (He isn't a pirlo or modric, boy still learning) and Fans conclude he is rubbish..

Ozil xhaka, kola et al plays safe passes, flicks the ball, keeps it simple and slow, Takes risk only when allowed space...fans bring out stats like (complete passes).

Conclusion, we need classy mobile and risk takers.

They were successful atimes also, is it not better than safe play all day?
Only God knows how much I hate this ball recycling, fearful and zero innovation football.

Even Auba of recent have started running with the ball, dribbling and trying things with the ball..
Iwobi and guen needs to be tutored by a zaha and verrati respectively and they will master things.

With good coaching and understudying quality players in that position from the bench could make them hit the top gear.
.see sterling, he started like a headless rabbit, but with consistency, good coaching and understudying quality players, he's now the best winger.

Nketiah plays quite similar to laca, he must have been benefiting from that top strikers.

Very spot on.
You are a good football analyst .

Nketiah looks like he could be an above average striker in the future. He is ambitious and has hunger in him.

Looks like Emery wants to hand him Welbeck position in the team. Would be interesting to see how he fairs next season. Heard he bossed all age grade leagues he participated in growing up.

Cannot. Yes! Ozil(current Ozil, not the one in Werder Bremen) cannot run with the ball from the deep, dribbling past tackles and linking the defense with the forward line.
He is lethargic, lazy and easily shoved aside by physical and determined midfielders. He is a liability at 350k per week. If he were on 100k per week, I wouldn't mind.

he is the lacazette type playing him in the wing is another disaster to happen

Was Welbeck ever a winger?

Welbeck though used in the wing role in some matches for us for his industry, was mainly the team third choice striker.

because welbeck is a typical example of let him play anywhere since he's just there. Rumor has it he was training as a left back when we had injury issue in that position

The fact is that at 17 everyone thought he was going to be a top class Griezman type striker. He still has a chance though, he's 20.

Next season will be a career defining one for him. Make or break season.

As for Iwobi, dude has quality and potentials. My hope for him is that whatever plan Emery will come up with next season should fit him, if not he would be playing next for a city club that is not in Manchester.

The £40m transfer budget has been confirmed by David Ornstein, the BBC correspondent. If we make the Champions League, it could become significantly higher.

cheesy cheesy cheesy

This club is just a joke. Imagine a top 10 world richest club having 40m to spend in the summer. I blame the fans who go to every game. How can you be paying premium and be receiving basic poo? Well, it's their business.

When the parasite have finished sucking us dry, he will leave. Who knows if we'll be dragging with Leicester and co. by that time.

*MAN CITY* is the son of the rich man in town. His parents have hired the best lesson teachers to coach him.

*LIVERPOOL* always wants to claim he is the best because his father was the best during his time in the same school.

*CHELSEA* is the big bully of the class. He comes first sometimes but his rich father is never satisfied with his performance.

*TOTTENHAM* doesnt really want to be first, all he wants is to be better than Arsenal.

*ARSENAL* is that kid who works hard and before exams forgets his mathematical set, calculator & pen. He constantly fall sick during cats and exams but very active during normal classes and even corrects the teacher....all teachers keep saying he was going to be the first in class but ends up being position four...or worse.

*MANCHESTER UNITED* is that student whose father is the wealthiest and used to sort out all his courses and bribe all the teachers for him to be at the top in those days but after his father passed away and his mother inherited the whole wealth and forced him to study by himself BT pride can't let him perform. He is always number 6 because he can nolonger get marks. Instead of concentrating on today's work he's everytime thinking about how he used to perform in the past while others are progressing.

*WESTHAM* is a kid whose parents gave up on him. He doesnt purchase revision books, he dodges classes and is happy with his position.

*WOLVES* is a student always in class, not a bright one but disturbs the bright students.

*CARDIFF* is that stubborn kid who sits at the back to make fun and always among the last.

Ornstein claimed we had 50m last year... And we spent 70 without selling...

What makes you think he is correct this time around?

He doesn't sound authoritative as before, and isn't too sure of himself...

His main source has probably left the club post Wenger era and he is just reporting because he has to...

With the massive clearout incoming, we will spend more than last summer...

Mustafi.. 15m
Elneny.. 5m
Ozil.. Massive wage out
Mkhi.. 20m
Jenks.. huge wage out
Welbeck.. huge wage out
Lich.. out
Cech.. out

With CL, sponsorships and other revenues, I see us spending up to 120m

wink

Well, maybe you're right. But his track record for Arsenal news is legit.

We sold last year, but the money was small. Perez and Chuba... Hopefully, the transfer fee is significantly better than the £40m even if we don't make the UCL.

....... The 40m is the least and more will be added from UCL money and player sales and outgoing wages. Most of the revenues we make go into paying serious wages on useless players. We are on a self - sustained model and just like Liverpool, their transfer budget is more or less the same as yours but they know how to sell players for huge bucks which adds significantly to their transfer money.

... Barca too are on same model but they get bigger revenues from Commercials, sponsorships and all. We are not mates in that regard. So, let's see what happens this summer concerning player sales and most importantly, the final next week. That will go a long way to convince KSE to invest. Right now, there is little difference between this season and the last save for the final. We lost 70m or so and we will keep losing more until we return to the UCl, so any significant investment will come after that.

....Both PSG and Real Madrid want Auba who has improved significantly towards the end of the season. Also, should Athletico sell Grizzmann, they might make a serious bid for Lacazette again. This is becoming a nightmare. We must make UCL else it will become increasingly difficult to keep both strikers. Good strikers are difficult to find now in the market. Increasing their wages is a good start but we must get rid of Ozil, both strikers won't be Happy receiving 250k while another player who had only 2 assists all season gets about a hundred more than them. It's important for dressing room harmony.

....Emery is seriously looking at one black defender from Getafe who is under 6ft and Nkunku for our b2b. I don't know enough to condemn these two but it's most likely because of our budget that we are looking at them but then Emery himself has been to Getafe games a few times this season to check out this player. I am not excited about both players but there is little we can do.

Nkunku is better than all our midfielders right now...

I would kill for a ball carrier through the middle..

Torreira can't do that, Xhaka can't, Guendouzi tries but just isn't good at it yet, Who else?

Elnenyhuh undecided

A midfield trio of Torreira, Maitland Niles and Nkunku will dominate that middle...

There you have three ball winners with one whose recovery is on another level... (AMN)

You have a destroyer who is able to stop attacks if he doesn't move further up the field... (Torreira)

You have two midfielders that can perform take ons right in the middle of the field.. (Nkunku and AMN)

They are all decent passers...

They are all technical...

They are strong on the ground too...

Pair this midfield trio with fast paced goal scoring wingers and Aubameyang... We will be right up there!!!

I am sure he sees something we cannot see in him and the guy is a utility player too, can play several positions on the pitch. It's pretty useful when you have a limited transfer budget. .....Very true bro but Niles na time bomb for now... that guy losses the ball too much and sometimes have brain farts. You don't want a player like that in midfield against teams that will put us to the sword if that happens. Liverpool game at Anfield comes to mind where Torreira was pressured and couldn't handle it. I am sure he will be eased in that's if Emery wants him in midfield at all. His lackadaisical attitude when with the ball looks sexy sometimes but mostly it is very costly. Niles still has a lot to learn playing in midfield.

. cool
This is cool!

A ball carrier and fast, pacy, sharp turning, penetrating players is what we urgently need.
Enough of side way passers and ball flickers..

Torreira tries progressing the ball, but struggles against physical tall players like Sissoko,Wanyama and Doucoure..
Guendozi tries it, that's brave of him for his age and size, but gets fouled and bullied a lot, he needs to learn more and build up..

Xhaka is so immobile, one foot, he will rather send the ball on errand than try to move it up a bit, his style suits Bayern or juve not EPL..

What you opined is my dream team, fast paced dribbling wingers flanking Auba/Laca will make our forward scary, control possession in the middle and stabilizes our defence.
