The Appeal Court which sat in Calabar, Cross River State, upheld a High Court ruling of an Ex-NNPC worker who killed his daughter’s lover to die by hanging. Godwin Elewana who appealed against the ruling of the Calabar High Court, which sentenced him to death for allegedly shooting to death a 22-year-old student, Douglas Ojugbo, said to be the boyfriend of his daughter, had it turned down as the appeal court affirmed the decision of a High Court. 

Justice Y. Ninpar, on behalf of three other judges of the Appeal Court, said, “The court, having gone through all the evidence and addresses by counsels for both parties, finds the judgement of the lower court credible and therefore valid before the law.”

Before the ex-NNPC worker who killed his daughter’s lover was told he was to die by hanging, the presiding judge of the High Court in Calabar, Justice Ukpa Ebitam, had said in his ruling that the prosecution team proved its case that the accused committed the crime.

What are they waiting for in executing this man and his police dpo accomplice? This fool of man chased this young boy in an open street and shot him dead at close range just because he came to collect the money for the laptop he sold to his daughter, killed and drag his dead body to the police station as a thief. Connived with the dpo and buried him without contacting any members of his family, I suggest they put him in an electric chair so that he can feel the pains he caused the family of this young boy.

Uncontrollable anger will end a man in the grave. Imagine the pain of a caring father dying for overprotecting his daughter

i dont know the victim personally but as fellow guy we dey hail ourselves when we see for area...it was shocking when i heard what happened to the guy...it was satisfying when i heard the news on radio about the hanging....an eye for an eye
