I have never been a fan of the Star Wars franchise.

About to try out Solo and The last jedi.

Are the worth my time?

Here's the thing. Do you like space opera? Do you think you may like it? Cos Star Wars Episode IV to VI are actually good. People used to sh1t on the prequels (Episode I - III) until recently. Now the sequels (VII - present) are getting all the hate.
My recommendation: See Episodes I - VI with Rogue One and then stop. That's all I have to say, young padawan. And may the force be with you.

John Wick 3 Parabellum

9/10

The fight scenes are one of the best I have ever seen (minus into the Badlands of course).
Can't say for other viewers but this is how you keep a franchise going.

Avengers finally found a worthy opponent at the box office.

Can't wait for Part 4 smiley

John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum

Okay, just had a blast watching arguably the best action movie of the year (so far). It has it's ups and downs ofc. I'll start with the ups first.

SPOILERS

The Good: When it comes to uninterrupted fight scenes, this chapter is the best of the pack. No shaky cameras, no millions of cuts per second. Only pure entertaining fighting. I mean, I witnessed John Wick execute kills with a frigging book, an axe, horses, and knifes for crying out loud. Don't even get me started on that scene with the dogs... My goodness! Explaining it here won't do it justice. You gotta see it. _Fucking awesome, folks!

The Bad: The plot is kinda weak though. There are a lot of discrepancies, like how could John take a lot of damage like he did, and somehow walked it off with nary a scratch (the scratch being a fingerless)? That's some thick plot armour _shit right there. The worldbuilding aspect is also very underwhelming. I expected a scenerio where John has to fight off a bunch of unique assassins to stay alive, but instead I got one where he mostly fought the same gang of assassins over and over. Also, the plot ended up where it started; John alone, and against the high table, and the fact that they still want him dead.

Overall, this film was everything it was trying to be, and delivered in spades, but it's also the weakest of the three because the plot went nowhere and only brought us full circle to where we started. If there is one real positive to be had here, it's the fact that there will be a chapter 4.

Apparently, Season 8 isn't as bad as some GoT fans want people to believe.

Its not about it being good, but we all want to see the end.

To see how they will end the story.

But generally its been a bad season, if you listen to D & D after each episode, their explanation of events just isn't it, like going for a better picture and choreography in the Long night, sacrificing the Dothrakis because they want a nice picture of their flaming Arakhs in the dark
Dany became mad just because Johnny boy (Forest Gump) couldn't love her back e.t.c.

I see your point, but still, I don't think I will miss work just to see a season finale of a favorite tv show that has taken a turn for the worse. The curiosity will be there, but my resentment will ultimately win the battle of wills.

To miss work for it hints at a certain level of commitment - an emotional investment. It shows that "disillusioned" fans still rate GoT high enough to put it ahead of their work.

One cannot quite understand the tastes of the 21st century movie watching audience.
Lool. true talk..graphics, CGI, music are some of the things considered. unlike those days when it was based on pure acting and storyline.

How can you say that most expository chapter of the franchise so far went nowhere?

For goodness sake!
We were shown the inner workings of how the organisation works and also give a peep into the background story of John Wick.

Most of those he fought from the beginning weren't of the "fish chopping" gang, Infact judging from the scene at the train station, the fish gang were killing other mercenaries to clear the path to an exclusive fight with John Wick.

They can only tell so much since they will want to keep us interested for Part 4.

Still 9/10 for me grin

Well i am in Nigeria, so we have to wait for the series to air before we download it on series site.

Assuming i reside in a country (i don't think Dstv shows it again) where i can watch it live as it airs and i can afford to miss work then i can. I will want to know what happens before i visit internet and start seeing spoilers or my tenant or workplace colleague tell me Arya killed Night King.

If you check the nature of work used in the statistics it might be people who can afford to miss work.

You can't be an employee, black for that matter and miss work for GoT. It is only the over privileged whites that can do such.

You're missing the point. Expository narrative and worldbuilding/exploratory narrative are not mutually exclusive. A film can reveal a lot without advancing the primary narrative at all. Not that there is anything wrong with that, esp if there's a follow up. Kind of dissatisfying tho.

There are more intelligent ways of doing that. Not a bad film anyhow.

Yes, i wanted to add calling in sick too.

The employers will later found out if they find a pattern that several employees called in sick to view Got finale.

Such happen to a young footballer in Holland who called in sick to watch Ajax play in London, the club later found out and he got sacked.

I'm a fan of meaningful action movies. Avengers isn't one of them. How come Thanos came to earth in brightness but the fight scene was dark as if they are in space. The back from time stuff is out of point.
