lionlee216:That's where I live now. My immigration processing came through last year. Moved out here with my Kids . That's where my Folks live. When my Oga comes over too, if he decides here is too quiet for him, then we can relocate to another state. But for me, I like a quiet life. ![]() Another thing is the weather here in Columbus. Unlike some states, winter time, highest snow fall we have had is 8 inches . Unlike some that experience foots of snow covering houses. No way. I am not down with that. |

lionlee216:True!.... can't paint everybody with a broad brush. On DD experience.... you missed a big pay day...something similar happened to a Black guy last year.... be lawyered up... think the business settled...but loss business due to discrimination. Nice gist! |

Olalekank:. 8inches just covers the grass. Ur foot goes in and it just covers it. Doesn't get to the knee. But when we are talking about feet of snow, be prepared for the snow to cover ur car, u will sit at home for days ni, no movement |

chokey419:Not yet ooo. My plan didn't go as i expected. I was supposed to be in naija in Feb , can't be flying up and down with the kids, cos they r in school, mom works full time. Plus with all that is happening at daycares, it's a no no for my baby. A friend advised he comes over for visiting, and we can do the courts here, then he goes back while I file. I don't know anyone who has gone through the process. We doing great Bro. |

Beautyaddy:America is what you make of it. The system can make you and it can break you. If you know the system, you can make it well here, and live ur American dream. And the good thing is your tax is put to good use. For one my boys haven't shouted up Nepa in a while, . Or generator sounds all over the place. ![]() |

pretty16:Hmmm...the chances of him being approved of that US visiting visa is very, very slim. Reason is because his strong ties all reside in the US. A suggestion I might give is to know when your mom can take a week off out her work for vacation and may be use that time to travel to Nigeria and then get married do your husband then. I believe you're still a green card holder and so that whole process for his migrating to the US might take about two years and some months. |

Beautyaddy:Yes, I also thought of that too. |
| Re: Yankee: through the eyes of a village boy. by pretty16(f): 4:39pm On May 13, 2019 |
Beautyaddy:Exactly. Honestly I am learning a lot from my mom. She knows a lot about how their system works. She studied accounting here in Columbus in the 70's, so I am learning a lot from her. Where some Africans make mistakes is, they move here and want to live, the way they live in Africa, spending cash. The Economy here is cashless. How can u build up your credit when u are using cash. And if u don't have a good credit score, u no fit get better thing. Don't just get a credit card, use it without paying back, that's where being disciplined comes in. Pay up ur credit before it begins to yield interest, or credit card companies will use you and eat well. |

pretty16:I made that same mistake in 2015. I got a capital one credit card and I was using it judiciously until they added more cash $5000. Gradually I was swiping and swiping not considering the interest and all. When it dawned on me it was too late, mind you I was still taking some classes and had a part time job. It took me a some months with discipline to pay off the card. Credit card can be a nightmare. |

First of all, I would like to apologize for the long absence. I won't start giving excuses for this absence, just know that life (school and work) came at me faster than I expected and I didnt plan my time accordingly. At some point during this long sabbatical leave, 24 hours wasn't enough for me sef. Good thing is, I have handled that phase and I'm here now. You think I was gone forever? Think again ![]() |

. Ladies are not meant to come to US to hustle(overstaying visa and looking for visa). Some have it clean while some have it rough. When you see a lady sending money home to her family or go to Nigeria to visit family with her greencard. When you ask, how did you get your greencard, she will say "Omo, na God ooo" but damn, the story and dicks that has passed tru inbtw her legs all in the name of greencard and true love no be here(not in many cases though). They first pass through the hurdle of green card then another hurdle of settling down. When you see someone giving you money from here esp a lady, always try to appreciate cos it is never easy.
Think again
