Papa, give us the transport moni, make we go’, shouted more than 20% of the bank’s employees, with some even lobbying or enlisting prayer warriors (or woli agbara) to get fired in exchange for the swiftly retracted exit package. A few days ago, albeit with a dissimilar result, Amazon introduced a $10,000+ incentive for any staff to resign and start a package delivery business. While enabling workers follow their new passion, Amazon’s masterstroke lies in still retaining these resignees within their network. In summary, one company uses imagination to re-settle their 'floating' employees while the other is like’ take this change and go hug transformer if you think it's greener out there’. Dear HR, while disgruntled guys are everywhere, avoid policies that feel like you are still wearing pampers on that seat, as retaining top, ambitious workers, more than ever before, is not beans.
