A Nigerian, Philip Undie, has filed a suit seeking an order of the Federal High Court in Abuja to declare the Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, unfit to be elected as a member or Speaker of the House of Representatives. Mr Gbajabiamila was convicted for fraud and dishonesty in the United States of America in 2007. See the case files below. If people like Gandollars and Farouk Lawan and Ibori could be free, then Femi Gbaja is a saint. Besides, this case just seems to border on legal misconduct, not adhering to bar rules which could have earned him a disbarrment but was later translated to a 36 months suspension. How exactly is this a conviction?... |
