The story is essentially about how foreign investors have lost some confidence in Nigeria's economy. The main ingredient for them is the worry over the rule of law attitude of the present administration. They can not trust whimsical tyranny.

You just said my mind. There couldn't have been a better analogy. I am a stakeholder in the power industry and know that till Nigeria fixes cost reflective energy tariffs and criminalises energy theft we would never have constant power supply.
Its the same with petrol. Do you know that average usage per person in developed countries is on average 1000 times a Nigerians usage.

Energy Users per Capita
Nigeria 700.7 kg of oil equivalent per capita
United States 7050.6 kg of oil equivalent per capita

They subsidise and feed us a tiny bit and we expect to grow.

It's the biggest problem facing Nigeria today. If we too have Power, we will be fat like the Americans!

Sure Blame the man at the top, like he is the only one involved in all this.

I don't know, who else should we blame? The common man?

He's supposed to surround himself with intellects and the best brains, and employ professionals into ministerial positions. That's what they do round the world. The fact that he's illiterate is detrimental enough, but he needs to fix round pegs in round holes. Employ the best heads. Don't just reward party faithfuls. It doesn't get us anywhere.

You people just believe in exonerating the president of all his woes. So if we don't hold him accountable, who then? PDP?

This is some deep cutting analysis.

Infact, the economy is bleeding.

How on earth can you walk away from a binding contract and not make provision for the liabilities in your budget?

Why must we be Nigerians in all things, it is not cool to do the Nigerian thing with valid contract, to walk away or show ambivalence after entering any contract. Even with a regime change, the cost implication is normally so much that to walk out of these contracts is foolhardy and who on earth vitiated this contract?

So many damning question begging for answer and so many idiots walking the corridors of power and so many more sign contracts without looking at the fine lines/terms, all for the promise of personal gains.

Yet from the facts Forbes have presented we see this are issue which the Jonathan government transferred to Buhari. The Sunrise power and P&ID issues dat back to the 2010-2012 period.

Now Buhari has to resolve the matter and reap the harvest. They didn't even show up to court bloody clueless drunkard from bayelsa

Woeful performance by this government. The worst on the economy since the serious contraction of the Abacha years as if we are under international economic sanctions despite the huge resources expended on the many trips abroad, nothing has remotely come to fruition to the benefit of Nigeria. We are seriously under siege in Nigeria to this government. Just a pity.

You should "blame yourself"! Though, not "blame", exactly, but take responsibility instead of waiting for government to go up to heaven and bring manna down for you! Anyone with a brain should by now know they will only go to heaven and bring the manna down for themselves. Or have you seen them sending other people's children to American hospitals and London schools?

I don't agree. I think it is mine and every individuals' responsibility to bring this out. And we can start by curing ourselves of our individual ignorance.

A truer picture of our present condition has never been painted.

Interesting times ahead, people.

Obama and the West knew what they were doing when they intervened in Nigeria's 2015 elections.

Nigeria was steadily storming in the economics chart and that meant one thing. Independence from the West.
The imperialists were never going to allow that grin Luckily for them (and unluckily for Nigeria) they had many foolish Nigerians in their millions who supported their intervention.
Now they have set Nigeria back by decades sad

This govt is a classic example of how not to manage an economy. This is the first time since 1999 that I struggle to remember who is the minister of Finance, that's what happens when a mediocre is in power.

See how we now celebrate sub 2% GDP growth.
Honestly, I don't know who is the Minister of finance. His/her impact is not being felt.

The negative perception about his personality and administration is just too terrible.
