As per GTB oh... You will still have to open an Euro dorm account. I had a dollar account too but had to open Euro. The bank will use their own conversion rate to convert dollar to Euro for you before moving your fund in the dollar acct to the Euro acct. They will not use CBN rate, it will be prevailing parallel market rate or slightly higher.

But if you have a way of funding your Euro account directly by yourself you will definitely avoid the bank charging you conversion rate.

But you can't move the fund out by yourself to a foreign account, the bank will do it for you and of course charge you the transaction fees (telex fee, offshore handling charge, VAT, etc). In my own case, the fees came to 23k.

Above is from own experience with GTB. I don't know if other banks handle it differently.

If you have a UBA account (even if it is Naira denominated) and you have online access to your account, there is a feature that is like FX Transfer. When you click on it, it appears an account owner would be able to initiate an FX Transfer. I saw this after I was done funding my BA. Anybody can give it a try and see if it works and revert back to share with others.

For those awaiting AL, and most especially those awaiting AD, I would advise you start writing your visa motivation letter on time so you can make necessary readjustment with time. You might just be unlucky and get appointment date two days ahead, living you with limited time to prepare well for the interview. I say this cos some people might decide to cancel their dates and you might just be the one to replace them.

Appointment date (AD) just landed.

I booked on Tuesday 28th May.
I filled September 2 as start of studies
I was assigned to Wednesday, July 17

Category A for Masters students
