Double standard. Against another tribe or religion, there will be plenty facts, infact he will step down b4, any fact is proven.
We are in trouble.

But the court threw out the suit on a preliminary objection, without reaching the merits...
Without a substantive hearing on the merits, how do we know that the plaintiff had "no singular proof"?

When he appeals the judgement to a higher court

Why am I not surprised that people support the judgement.
Nigerians have been so raped by a useless society many now thinks like goats
Leaders of tomorrow indeed

I tell you bro. Under this clime, it's difficult for another Gani to rise cos it's impossible for a single tree not matter how huge, to make a forest.

Yes, cost follows events, but certainly not punitive cost.
The consequential orders made, can only be made if the court had jurisdiction to so do.

You cannot decline jurisdiction on one breath and then assume jurisdiction to make consequential orders that can only be made if the substantive suit is considered, on another breath.

That ultra vires the powers of the court. The court went over board and embarked on a speculative journey.

It is forbidden to approbate and reprobate. The law is trite in this regards

So when the party did not bring any evidence, does that not give the court the impetus and morality to declare that the plaintiff does not have any case but was just trying to rubbish an innocent person?

Or the court has to put a gun on his head to bring evidence??

The problem in Nigeria is simply because some people just think they are the only smart ones. People like you. That's why they drive rubbish on the roads, undercut the system through payment of bribe to get ahead of others on line, litter the environment instead of exercising patience till a waste bin is located, etc.

Someone accuses me of falsifying my age before the law court, and the case was given so much media attention, yet the person did not bring any evidence to back up such spurious and defaming claim, yet, a reasonable person is still saying the court should not delve into the substantive matter.

Are u not aware that the burden of proof lies with the person making an allegation??

If the person refuse to bring evidence, the court should still pamper him/the useless case in her ruling and therefore encourage such useless cases to clog the courts??
May God Bless you.
You have said it all.

MUST AN EYE BE FOR AN EYE !

Must we practice Mosaic Law in Nigeria.

Mere Accussation even if it is name slandering or defamatory statement should not amount to this kind of heavy fine.

We should have simple penalty in Nigeria such as the accusser doing COMMUNITY SERVICE such as it happens in the United Kingdom, the rest of Europe and the United States of America.

COMMUNITY SERVICE SHOULD BE A BETTER REPLACEMENT FOR A $10 FINE.

The court can decides to say that the false accusser should do one year community services in his local community.

This kind of acts can even go and kill the WHISTLE BLOWING POLICY OF THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT OF NIGERIA.

How much is minimum wage that they will ask him to pay 10m. assumption should be based on the common man wages and the average nos of working years.

Or do they mean a common man cannot afford to challenge the failing government.

When he appeals the judgement to a higher court
Unfortunately, appeals are limited to questions of LAW, not facts...
Unless the appellate courts sends it back to the lower court for rehearing.

Once the court ruled on the preliminary issue of standing, the case ENDS there...

The introduction of any evidence would have been in the course of a hearing on the substantive merits, but without granting such a hearing by denying standing the court should never have then proceeded to rule on the merits. It's a truly bizarre decision!

You can also challenge the court Judgement in the court on Monday, but note, if you only rely on hearsay as evidence, you might also be charged N10m for wasting the court time.

The judgment is meant to deter people like you whose intention is to continue wasting the court precious time. Or do you accuse your neighbors of stealing your electronic without coming up with evidence?

Don't allow your interest to override your sense of reasoning. Onnoghen himself attested to the fact that he failed to declare his assets fully as expected of him.

And you truly believe Atiku would rescue Nigeria. A 70 yr old plus man who had been in govt even before you were born and was/is part of the elite that destroyed this country is suddenly your saviour. Mami think well.
If Saul encountered Jesus on the road to Damascus, and Saul became Paul, and a tormentor was used to advance the propagation of the Gospel who tells you that, God has not touched Atiku, and wants to use him for a rebirth of the Nation. Never write anyone off.
