Good evening all, I've been on both networks for a while now and I seem not to understand why MTN 4G LTE drains battery faster and heats up my phone too.
AIRTEL 4G LTE is faster than MTN 4G LTE in my area of residence yet it retains my charge more than MTN 4G LTE and my phone doesn't heat up too.
Gurus in the house, please, what could be the reason for this?

Probably the mast distant. The closer you are to the mast, the less power it takes your device to communicate vice versa.

But MTN's mast is closer to me than AIRTEL's

it about signal strenght not mast location

you might have mtn mast in your counpond without 4g node on it and your phone would have to rely on signals from far away mast that has 4g.

the modem in your phone will need extra juice to get signal from faraway.

mtn 4g is not on every mast yet.
