The Coalition of United Progressives Parties (CUPP) claimed he was an ex-convict in the United States, but the Director-General of Femi Gbajabiamila’s campaign team, Abdul Mumin Jibrin, at a news briefing in Abuja on Wednesday, denied the claims.

However, in some data dug up by SaharaReporters, Gbajabiamila was reportedly charged to court and found guilty of stealing $25, 000 belonging to a client in Georgia state of the US.
