A High Court in Lafia, on Friday ordered the Nasarawa State Government to pay the management of Breeze 99:9 FM Lafia, N67. 3 million for illegal demolition of the station.

Delivering judgment, Justice Rose Soji, held that the demolition of the station by the government on May 20, 2017, was illegal.

The judge also held that from the evidence before the court, the demolition was in violation of the relevant laws of the state which stipulated that the government was supposed to give 21-days notice, NAN reports.

She said the Nasarawa State Urban Development Board (NUDB) notified the management of the station that the Certificate of Occupancy was for residential on May 11, 2017.

“So, from the date the notice was served and when the station was demolished, is just nine days as against the relevant laws of the state.

“Because of not adhering to the stipulated laws, the demolition is hereby declared illegal and the government should pay N17. 3 as special damages and N50 million as general damages,” the judge added.

So instead of the 21 days ultimatum the government rushed and demolished it in 9 days. Just because it's a residential permit not asif they committed a crime against humanity

What was the urgency for Pete's sake? Government that suppose to be providing jobs and protecting its citizens are so eager to put them out of business.

Which AIT? Dokpesi need not to be sweating like a Christmas gotie if he has done the right thing. He used the fund of Nigerians to rise, he used them as a ladder to get to the top and neglected them. Since 2008 which Dáar come to the public to raise fund, how much dividend has he given out? The only people that benefited from the fund are his family members. If he has been doing the right thing, the shareholders will be the one to fight the battle for him but since he has kicked the ladder that lifted him away, let him enjoy his ban while it last
