So how would I still remember the last time I went to church When I don't know who they sing those praises to. Cos I'm dead sure it's not God they sing to. Could it be lucifer

I can see a lot of false sentimental replies in my mention. It's very obvious maybe because of the recent hate against churches and pastors.

I was sensible enough to balance my post initially. My first statement was even against noises from churches etc. But because the sentimental ones expected me to accuse the church and justify a woman that was said to slap a 68 year old woman.

It's a waste of time trying to reply people who have decided to be sentimental or bias in their judgement.

It is only in Nigeria u see a church doing 90days vigil. As in, u will disturb ur neighborhood with speakers and microphones for 90 consecutive days. I'm a Christian, but u shouldn't disturb ur neighbors cos of ur faith. Everyone deserves a normal life

I don't know the Church you used to attend before you stopped, but Do you know that your absence in church can do your spiritual life more harm than good.
Church is a place for cleaning like car wash. Everybody come to church once or twice a week to refill their spiritual fuel tank and cleaning of all the contagious sins around our lives.
Look beyond debris, rubbish in the lives of some people in the church and focus on your God. I have stayed aloof from church before because of the same reasons you had, but now I'm back again. People will irritate and offend you in the church but you can choose to stay focused and godly. The choice is absolutely yours!

She said she's been living in that house for 34yrs yet the previous publication claimed she moved in 10 years ago.

She also said she was living in the house even before the church foundation was laid on a canal which is illegal. You chose to ignore all these facts but prefer judging who is an aggressor based on one's occupation or picture.

just look at how contradictory your post is, you say you are too wise to judge based on hearsay yet you have already concluded based on hearsay that the church built illegally on a canal just because she said so. Rubbish. That s particular branch of a church is having space management issue with a neighbor does not call for sweeping generalisation.
Eventhough some are known to be highly insensitive to the plight of Thier neighbours, it should be on record that majority are not

The denominations you excepted are not all 100% absolved of such issues. I think it is just time for churches to handle with seriousness the issue of noise and parking spaces. My church have to create a parking space within our compound for another church to prevent them from blocking the road every time.. Why should churches mounts speaker s outside to disturb people? The fact that Muslims are going it does not make it right for us as Christians to do. We must demonstrate by our actions that we are law abiding and not encroach on other people's property .

Cant argue with you as i havent been to all churches in Nigeria, but from my personal observation i made my comments based on my own opinion, And i have stayed close to a Particular Olubi Johnson church that hardly would you hear their sounds and services, and when you do its some of the best calming musical sounds you would ever hear.. with soothing effect, but some would give you headache

I think churches should be a bit sensitive to the rights of their neighbours to peace. Imagine disturbing someone with your loud speakers at daytime and at night time every day of the week, and even after repeated complaints by the affected person you refuse to tone down.

Well to start with, some facts these days.
Everyone gets sentimental when a lady or female gender is involved or when they misunderstand your statement against women.
People are increasingly being hateful about churches and pastors and so will readily castigate any comment that is not totally against churches.

My post was not targeted at all women, i wonder how you became so offended. I said we know 'women like that', that is, some women who make troubles especially if they attain good position. Is it that people don't understand the phrase or you just trying to get offended for what i didn't say.
Secondly, the first thing i was against in my post was the usual noises from churches and mosques and that it should be regulated. My post is balanced and simple.
I think you should try to understand, clear your mind of sentiment and being bias and don't create offence where there is non.

Against God ké? Some years back there used to be a Church opposite my house, from Sunday to Saturday there is an activity with their loudspeakers on full blast and vigils every night. I approached them that the neighbourhood has right to a quiet environment and they said no one can stop the work of God. Then an "anonymous notice" was pasted on the gate of the Church that they would be sued alongside the owner of the property they are using for violating the environmental laws of the State. They respected themselves and reduced their noise drastically before packing out.

That church is a special case they will want to make you look like a devil

Yea bro, i also frown at noise and that is the first thing i said in my initial post. I didn't say she should not react especially when it's getting too much. i only said she allowed herself to be provoked, and when you allow people to provoke you, they push you to misbehave, especially she is a lawyer and should know the implication of some things.
What i expected her to do is to find some evidences against them she can use to report to a station or contact the proper government sector instead of facing them herself?
She knows how to deal with them if she wants to go by law as a learned fellow, but not towing that path even sheds light she may be a woman who likes taking things physical.
I only try to be frank. I also hate noise, gen noise, churches, mosque and event noise, but that doesn't mean i should be bias with my post.

Hearsay i referred to here has to do with you judging her based on the pictures and her occupation. (Maybe a wrong use of word)

As for what she said, it's her words against theirs.

You judged her based on what was written about her without her own side of the story. At least the court and evidence will prove what you mentioned unlike the who beat who that ybe the church used in diverting from the main issue.

Is who beat who tbe the issue here or the nuisance being caused in a residential area?

If the church was on the right path, they wouldn't be clinging on the petty side of the whole issue. Let them prove they are not being a nuisance or that the woman cooked lies against them.

What is it with Nigeria that stopped some people from having rational thinking faculty? Someone from what we have read had followed right channel and claimed she was assaulted when she decided to gather evidence to support her claim with church authorities but you suddenly turned complainant to a bad person.

The report says she has been enjoying quiet life in the neighbourhood until church decided to erect their structures and continued to make noises unabated every hours of the day.

If she was your mum, would you side religion over right to her peaceful existence being trampled? For God this is a judge that has served her country in good stead unlike you who runs on religion jaundice in your sight of reasoning.

Stick to the context of discussion which is about church breach of peace of a poor judge and beating her up when she complained.

The judge has not be said to be Muslim and was not fighting them because of Christian faith but noise that they can control. I agree you want to water down the impact by bringing up mosque into it. The person has not said they are speaking on behalf of mosque or Muslim.

We are Nigerians we know that mosque could also be guilty of noise but let us deal with issue at hand which is church. When it is mosque situation we will talk about them too.

Religion is personal. I wonder why our country is still enmeshed in hunger, abject poverty, disregard for human life, total infrastructure decay, banditry etc while Churches continue shouting, blaring loudspeakers & multiplying in thousands. Yet countries not so religious continue developing astronomically. Yet gullible religious bigots tell us that we would have been worse off without their activities.

Bottom line:Do not use your church/Islamic activities to disturb my peace. Stop being a nuisance.
