I wouldn't change anything, more you change, more the embassy could delay or dig into your history and file. Go to your scheduled interview and bring the old and new passport, they will register your new passport and put visa in it.

Someone should please help me out.
I successfully renewed my B1/B2 through dropbox last month. Third time having a B1/B2.
However, i just received my i20 and planning to apply for a student visa at the end of June.
My school resumes in August.
Q1. What are my chances of getting an F1 visa with my valid B1/B2.
Q2. In the event that i am refused an F visa, do you think my valid B1/B2 will be cancelled.

P.S. I am going with one dependent (child) who also has a valid B1/B2.

Thank you.
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by groovychik(f): 5:28pm On Jun 10, 2019
If F1 is denied the B1 does not get cancelled unless you are being banned for falsification etc. Best of luck

RECAP:. Did my B1\B2 visa interview in January,2019.At the end, the VO informed me that my application needs to undergo Administrative Processing and the embassy will send me a form (DS-5535) via email, which I should fill and send back to them. The email came a month later.I did as instructed and the wait began. Last week,I missed a call from the embassy and called back without success.Checked my inbox to see a mail from them asking me to come for a follow-up interview before this week ends. sad So, I went for the interview today. Below is the transcript VO:Good morning, welcome to the US Embassy.
Me:Good Morning***passes passport to her*** VO:Aside the timing for your trip, has anything changed since the last time you came here? Me:No. VO: You're going to Houston? Me: Yes. VO:When would you like to go? Me:September VO: How long will you stay? Me: 1 week. VO: Why Houston? Me: My colleagues go there often and I would like to see things for myself. VO: Do you have family in the US?
Me:No VO: You'll be staying in a hotel? Me:Yes.
VO:How much do you earn? Me: N730k. VO: Are you married? Me:No.
VO:How come?***laughs*** Me: I'm still searching for the right person I guess.
VO:you work in *******?(an agency in Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources) Me:yes VO: And you've been there since 20** ? Me:Yes VO:***picks passport, flips through while naming the stamps, used and valid visas*** VO:I see you have an unused UK visa. When do you plan going to the UK? Me: probably in September. VO:okay.everything looks good.pick up your passport in 3-4 days. Me: Quick question. Is it compulsory I travel in September? VO:You want to visit Houston in the fall.A slip of 1-2 months from your stated travel date is okay. However, we prefer that you arrive at your stated destination in US and spend the stated time for the visit in your application. You need to establish credibility of your intent.Am I clear? Me: Yes Coincidentally, the same pleasant lady that interviewed me earlier in the year also did today's interview.Hope things go smoothly from here.

This is the problem, you clearly cannot afford this trip on your salary, how do you convince a VO that you will spend the equivalent of 5 months salary just to spend a few days in the US on vacation and return?

how much should you recommend I have as minimum?

Let the VO determine if he is eligible or not!

I think the VOs have been determining eligibility alright. It’s why the vast majority of applicants are denied visas.

Hello Everyone, I'm new and this is my very first post here.

Please can anyone assist me with this:
I've been trying to book an interview date for my parents for over a week now and the website keeps saying "NO APPOINTMENT DATE AVAILABLE".

Initially I thought it was my browser. I cleared cache, cleared browser history yet the same thing was happening. I keep trying to see if I can find a date and most times I'm blocked from viewing the date picking page cos I've reached max for the day.

Kindly, how do I go about this?

Thanks alot @Mizzfy. Yes we had it in Belfast. It was a quick one, we were scheduled for 9:45 and we left the consulate before 11. I wish you the very best just be composed and as truthful as you can. Make sure you go with a letter from your uni. That was the second document after our passport the lady in charge of documentation requested for.
Cheers!!

Yes bro, tell it. #300k monthly salary is about $1000 so don't know what's wrong with that. I got my first US visa on that salary. Americans,Europeans etc do it year in, year out by saving for end of year vacation. Anyway, that's his opinion.

You’re neither American nor European. Unlike Nigerians, neither are economic migrants and do not require visas to travel to most countries.

You’re making a false comparison here.

Hi Guys,
Please what are the chances for a family of 4 going to the u.s for a vacation, along with their grandma; both parents are working and bring in up to a mil monthly and the kids are ages 19 and 11? One's in university and the other in secondary school. The grandma is working and has a very good income as well. They would like to travel for her 70th birthday and just to have fun and leisure time. Location is in dallas, where a brother lives, he's a citizen with a family and a good job.
Please what are the likely questions to be asked and how would they be able to prove home ties?
Also, how best do you put across that you you're just going for a vacation? (The proposed travel time in the ds-160 is between july-september and they want to spend 3 weeks). (They have been to the u.s once (mother, kids and grandma),about 12 years ago and have taken a family trip to s.a 4 years ago. Both parents have a lot of travel history.)

Thankyou

Hey guys, see me see wahala o!!
I'm trying to make an appointment for the Lagos consular office. After paying all the fees etc, now it gets time to make the appointment and they say
"There are currently no appointments available".
I'm due to resume school by August for my next semester. What do I do? Will appointments open up at some point?
Why are there no appointments available? Am I doomed or what?

Why don't you use the emergency appointment link and indicate in it that you're making this appointment for school purposes whose resumption date is for August.

Are you a returning student with an expired F-1 visa?

It seems the appointment dates you will find are from November. That's if you can access the appointment page. I hope you aren't doomed.

Yes, technically, I am a returning student on an expired visa, but that is because since I left for school in 2016, I didn't return until 2019. Upon returning, I first of all went to renew my passport which also took a few weeks.

Under normal circumstances , you would have a good chance. But there is nothing normal under this current US administration. Imagine people trying to get appointment for interview and getting messages like "no appointment dates are available."
These are terrible times for America tourists like me. I would advice you guys to go on vacation else where like UK,Netherlands,Australia,Canada etc. for now. When grandma is seventy-five years old(by then Trump would be out)you guys can consider US again.
My visa expires December,2019 my brother i have given up trying to renew for now until the dust settles
