Well, he's entitled to his opinion.. His performance this season is okay but there are better players ahead of him this time around..

Bernardo Silva performed better in terms of the trophies he won. Messi performed better because he was the highest goal scorer in the Champions League as well as LA Liga. Another thing to bear in mind is the fact that Uefa Nations League is more like international Friendlies with a Cup.

Messi stands a better chance to scoop the Award. The stats this season is enough to Judge..
