Be Cautious and obtain a detailed vehicle history report from computerglobal which can reveal many hidden problems from a vehicle’s past, including flood titles, recalls and more, and also will indicate if a vehicle has been registered in at-risk areas during flood and hurricane seasons.
Consumers could end up saving a great deal of time and money in repairing damages that were unbeknownst to them with they made the purchase.

This makes no sense. You fuel pump supply line is located at the bottom of the tank, thats the only way you can still get fuel to the pump even when your tank is low. Think about it if it were in other other place, you will not be able to get fuel to the pump once the fuel fell below the level of the outlet. Therefore common sense would dictate that if your tank is dirty, you are going to get dirt in your fuel line whether your tank is full or low.

The first picture is a cutaway of the fuel tank showing the fuel pump assembly. 2nd picture shows a detailed diagram of a typical fuel pump assembly. As you can see, the fuel pump is located right at the bottom of the tank. if your sieve is dirty and clogged (i.e dirty tank), nothing can help you but washing your tank, full tank or no full tank.

driving on low fuel is very bad , take a water tank for example , when its low it come dirty , upon the tap is placed low , when full it comes cleaner , I can't drive on low fuel unless on emergency, I was on low fuel one day at egbeda traffic , imagine leaving your car on 3 lane traffic to carry okada , take gallon go fin fuel at night ? haba !!! full tank gives peace of mind and it saves money too. take gallon buy 1k fuel into 5 times, and take another gallon buy 5k fuel once , see for yourself the result,

The fuel pump work more and can lead to overheating cos fuel also serve as lubricant to the fuel pump. At near empty, it takes in dirts as the fuel goes low cos of the debris that settled at the base of the tank becomes active

Make sure your car has fully stopped before switching to reverse cos it weakens the gear box when you switch from drive to reverse while the car is still moving.
Uhm.. My hubby keeps warning me about this one. I felt he was being dramatic. Said the transmission is one of the most expensive parts of a car to replace.

I agree. This one is tried and tested. It's cheaper buying large amounts than small small.

I think you forgot to add one very important one.
"Having s3x in your car". When you have s3x in your car your car acts up unexpectedly.

Your reasoning is without merit

1. so long as fuel is flowing through it, it is getting lubrication, the fuel going through the fuel pump does not know whether it is from a low tank or from a full tank. There is a difference between running out of petrol and running a car with low fuel. English language!!!!!!

2. A car fuel tank is not like a stationary domestic water or diesel tank where the dirt will settle after filling. The motion of a car, stopping accelerating braking rough roads etc mean that the fuel in a cars tank never settles, although they are designed with baffles to reduce this, fuel is constantly splashing around in the tank so if you have a dirty tank, dirt is going to clog the filter in the tank soit doesn’t matter whether you have low fuel or a full tank.

Like I said if your tank is clean you can drive on low fuel and never have problems. If your tank is dirty you will have problems whether the tank is full or empty.

Go and learn English and the difference between a pump that has run out of petrol and pumping air and a pump with low fuel still pumping fuel. Your problem is English comprehension

'Your vehicle is one of your most valuable assets'

What is an asset? What qualifies a car as an asset?

Anyway aside that, your pieces of advice are really valuable for optimal car performance and maintenance culture.

You're very correct sir! The fuel pump is located below the tank.
Yet it is not good to drive around with reserve all the time cos it will easily spoil your fuel pump, when it's in reserve the pump is doing more powerful job to pulp the fuel up for you than when it at the normal gauge.

very true. I spent roughly 100k including, transportation and workmanship to replace a gearbox for and old fashioned car. Now imagine how much it would cost to get a replacement for the new models. Best thing is to run weekly check up on engines and pay attention to sounds your vehicle makes. That way you'll be able to prevent any fault that's about to come up before it can cause a serious damage.

God save us.. I am so stingy with car repairs eh!The only thing I attend to sharply is brakes. That's something I know always has to be in top notch condition, I never wan die now.

Thanks bro for sharing... Very useful tips.

I can kinda guilty of number (1), particularly with my older car. I get careless and ram into potholes atimes. I'm a bit careful with my newer car as it is my baby.

Who will save me from driving on low fuel? I used to do that a lot cos I'm sometimes too much in a hurry and too lazy to branch the filling station while driving. But I'm improving.

Good enough, I sustain regular inspection and maintenance on my cars. And I don't waste time to fix issues when they arise.

My older car which I have been driving for almost 4 years still looks and drives like a pretty new car. Well maintained.

Thanks
