I want to use today to remember my ex who fell after much struggles with sickle cell, she was a real fighter, throughout our university days we battled it, took precautions, day and night until 2017.

Linda you will forever be in my heart

Maybe you are not ss and you don't fall sick.
I don't think all of them get crisis like that, though based on maintaining their health. I know of someone, though he is late now. Since I knew him, I haven't seen him experiencing crisis. But he just woke up one day and complained about headache and body pain and that was the end. He died a day after he celebrated his 33 yrs birthday.

I celebrate my wife today, she is SS. Even though we go through situations... rarely. I believe with love, we have been able to pull through together so to me, it's no shame to have married you knowing you are one. I am AA and that has given us 3 wonderful children. Many more years to come, we will still both be around together to nurture them to adult hood. LOVE AND CARE ABOVE ALL. 10 years on and still counting........ smiley
wow, God will continue to strengthen her.

How did he know he was SS if he didn't had crisis? It's the crisis that makes one know that someone is actually a sickle cell.
R.I.P to the young man. cry

At least he had parents, Mere seeing him self, you will know he was one. Also, I didn't know him from childhood, but within the five years of knowing him, no crisis at all. Always on drugs too and always complaining of taking drugs. they really tried to keep him, but he told them that he want to go and rest.

Infact, he use to use himself as an example to AS intending couples.

May he continue to RIP.

Wow, it's not all ss you can discover by just looking but since u can tell by just looking at him then He must have been suppressing his crisis with those drugs and that's why u couldn't see him experience one.

I think you should disengage.

Women have some unthinkable faith.. She may think you are her soul mate, so Genotype should not separate you guys but that is fallacy...

You should initiate the separation...

Taking the following steps to stay healthy may help you avoid complications of sickle cell anemia:

Take folic acid supplements daily, and choose a healthy diet. Bone marrow needs folic acid and other vitamins to make new red blood cells.
Choose a diet that focuses on a variety of colorful fruits and vegetables, as well as whole grains.
Drink plenty of water. Dehydration can increase your risk of a sickle cell crisis.
Drink water throughout your day, aiming for about eight glasses a day.
Increase the amount of water you drink if you exercise or spend time in a hot, dry climate.
Avoid temperature extremes. Exposure to extreme heat or cold can increase your risk of a sickle cell crisis.
Exercise regularly, but don't overdo it.

....................... .......................... ............................
For the people that want to know if sickle cell be cured

due to increasing failure rates of bone marrow transplants......current trend is geared towards foetal haemoglobin induction

Here is the answer : Bone marrow transplant, also known as stem cell transplant, offers the only potential cure for sickle cellanemia....
As a result, treatment for sickle cell anemia is usually aimed at avoiding crises, relieving symptoms and preventing complications.

............................... .................................. ...............................
The number and main important thing to note : AS should not get married to AS.
This has led to a lot of deaths in the country.
People should not let love blind them.
AS getting marry to another AS is not love but foolishness

due to increasing failure rates of bone transplants and expensive nature(which makes it mostly out of reach to the the third world).....current trend is geared towards foetal haemoglobin induction

Please MoDs celebrate the Warriors today.

NB
We call ourselves the Warriors because we are constantly fighting unending battles with Sickle Cell. And no matter how tough each battle is, we always come out victorious.
