Bad governance is a scourge upon a people... Ordinary waste management has turned Herculean...

Can't really blame your bad leaders. This is supposed to be a democracy... You get who you vote... Even Abia indigenes know to always swallow their shame and pain. Tueh!!!

It's a disgrace but those are not 'major streets'.

It is however an example as to how useless this governor has been. He likes the camera too much.

Bring back Donald Duke please.

Too bad the Constitution only allows governors to run for 2 terms...

Funnily enough, the guy could have been President...if he had not said no to Yaradua's offer of the VP slot some 11 years ago....

Former Neatest City in Nigeria...
Re: Filth Take Over Streets In Calabar [PHOTOS] by Nobody: 9:28am On Jun 21, 2019
OK...here is my solution

1.Every calabar resident pays N20000 monthly as council tax.

2.The money is funnelled into a new agency...Calabar Sanitaiton Department.

3.The CSD purchases garbage trucks, installs dustbins everywhere, and also invests in a recycling plant.

4.Every street has a refuse collection day...

5.Problem solved in months.

It's same situation accross the 36 States of the federation undecided

I was even expecting to see it in a major area sef

These are rural places, and such mess are not uncommon in the Nigerian setting
lipsrsealed

However the states government should introduce policies in order to curb this menace
What the f'u^ck are u saying man? They said calabar and you're still mentioning rural areas. We are talking about a state capital here.

What has surprised me most is that none of the responses so far has mentioned the statement made towards the end that Ayade's brother is in charge of the refuse agency.

What that tells me is that every response up to and including yours did not bother to read the post completely.

Shame

Re: Filth Take Over Streets In Calabar [PHOTOS] by Originalsly: 9:43am On Jun 21, 2019
Simple solution....residents need to dump garbage in front of the governor's and his brother's residence/office...or if heavily policed... do rotten eggs drive by.... they will know why.

Ah I see!

Still stand by my post though.

FCT Abuja used to have a system where you paid for parking. Yes, it was run by the then Minsiter's son...and yes there was corruption, but it wasn't a bad idea.

That is where increased transparency comes in. But in Nigeria, transparency is used as a poltical weapon.
