How come nobody is talking about the money NPA owes INTELS

NEWSIntels Denies Owing NPAPublished 1 month ago on May 22, 2019 By JOHN ADETUNJI
The management of Nigeria’s oil and gas logistics giant, Intels Nigeria Limited said it is not indebted to the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), but rather NPA owes it more than US$750 million.

The company, which issued a statement yesterday in response to the termination of its boats pilotage monitoring and supervision agreement by NPA, said while it is open to an amicable resolution of the contract dispute with NPA, it is willing to proceed in all appropriate directions to protect its interests and its 5,000 employees.

NPA OWES INTELS

https://leadership.ng/2019/05/22/intels-denies-owing-npa/

silverbirdng:

Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has explained why it terminated the services of Intels Nigeria Limited from the eastern ports of Calabar, Delta and Port Harcourt.

The company, co-owned by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, provides comprehensive integrated logistics services for the Nigerian oil and gas industry and has 30 years of experience in port management and support services in shore bases across Nigeria.

The Managing Director of the NPA, Hajia Hadiza Bala Usman, told The Nation that the decision to terminate the services of Intels was informed by the latter’s inability to remit over $140 million to the federal government’s coffers, being the accumulated revenue it generated for a period of time.

“Intels was providing a service of collecting revenue for port operations and they were not remitting as and when due,” she said.

She recalled that after she came on board as NPA MD, she signed “a supplementary agreement which required all revenues generated to be paid into the single treasury account (TSA).”

Usman said Intels, however, reneged on the agreement it had with the NPA and the corporation was left with no option than to cancel the contract outright.

She said: “Following the agreement, Intels has been very difficult in making payments to us. They owe us over $140million that they have not remitted. So, we felt such non-compliance and such level of impunity should not be accepted, hence we issued a notice of termination to them.

“We are going to advertise for a replacement company that would offer such services at a cheaper cost because Intels is charging the Nigerian government 28 percent for revenue collection and typically such commissions are limited to 10-15 percent.

“You hardly see where an agency is charging 28 percent. So, we have issued a notice of termination and we are also going to court to ensure that those monies not credited by Intels are paid back”.

No need for any explanation. Intel's got the contract base purely and solely on politics, so it can also lose the contract based purely on politics.

Atikuchukwu because he was then VP established a private company to be collecting revenue that government parastatal ought to be collecting. Now, that he is no more the VP and his has been kicked out, he can go and be collecting revenue for PDP states.

Number 15 of the 48 Laws of Power, Destroy/Crush your enemy completely/totally. We will ground Intels, next we will look at banks, insurance, FPAs and other financial institutions that Atikuchukwu has interest and also ground them. We will then shut his private university which he built with our stolen money. Finally, Nigeria Immigration Service will abduct him and dump him in Cameroon where he belongs.

Even Tinubu they call names dont get 28% of revenue collected. How can one collect 28% and still refused to remit 72%? Why did pdp government allowed it in the first instance? Why was it not done like lagos state where individual share of revenue is done at source and no one needs to settle the other. And this man wants to govern Nigeria - then, Obasanjo may be right on his comments regarding him
"Why was it not done like lagos state where individual share of revenue is done at source and no one needs to settle the other"
Are you sure about the above statement? shocked
Because twice I had to make payments for fines I paid to alpha betta consulting account. The last time was 2 years ago when the number plate on my vehicle was removed by Lagos state task force.
I assume AB collects the revenue and then deducts its percentage before remitting to LASG.

This exactly where nobody want to invest in nigeria..,. There is no security for investment, ranging from criminalized economy/policies to terorism to militancy to change of government to incompetency. Nigeria indeed is a failed state, it is unfortunate, why would any of our past leaders reinvest their stolen fund back in the country when they know their investment is not secured. Federal government need to revisit their strategy

Why are some people so daft? Can't you read that the company had been in operation for 30years? Atiku was Nigeria's VP how long ago? Ozuo!

We need not foreign economic saboteurs as investors.
We need not foreign con men with brief case to develop
We need not guarantee to looters of their loots but secure our common wealth & national interest at all times. Rise up Nigeria & the world shall bow to thee.

If this is done to reduce the service charge and increase income to the Government coffers, fine. However, if it's done to get back at the opposition without having a standard company that can handle NPA collections, the outcome would be a regret.

Without holding brief for any company or political party, I doubt if there is any maritime service provider in Nigeria that can match intels in all ramications.
is there anything in Nigeria that is not done to get back at opposition?
if you check very well, you will see that there company breaking more rules than Intel but they are always let off the hook because they are not in opposition.
the practice of playing politics with national wealth is the reason we will remain a $hit-hole

But if it's to get back at Atiku then I condemn it.

What if the reason is true and at the same time it is to get back at him because he has being getting away with it for a long time and using the money to fight the government?

What will your decision be?
