Absenteeism is bad. However, can a governor lawfully issue a suspension in the manner Zulum is going about it? |

Nigerians will not cease to amuse me Do you people even realize that suspending these doctors will take a far greater toll on the lives of the common men in Borno that cannot afford private care? |

Amarachi1990:1. I don't believe the governor has the right to unilaterally suspend them without hearing their own side of the story. 2. They have superiors, up to the cmd of the hospital. How come it took the governor to take notice their absenc? I'm sure the governor can't sustain this visit so, what happens next? The state should rather sanction the unit heads and cmd for not playing their role properly. 3. The state can employ biometric attendance register to curb absenteeism. This will be a better solution than this media show. 4. I also hope the gov took note of the health facilities, manpower, etc that have a much bigger impact health delivery than absent doctors |

Afamed:I’m saying there are other ways to punish them versus suspending desperately needed doctors. If you knew how dire our primary healthcare situation is, you wouldn’t be defending this bad decision. |
