Don't try to sugarcoat what Niggerians did to those people.

Everything happening to Niggeria now is Karma from all the evil shit you people have done. The starvation, poverty, increased death toll and now Xenophobia everywhere is Karma dancing.

If you can do that then you would found the persons and the region responsible for almost all the woes you were complaining about - guess what; it is not the north or the northerners you hate so much.

1) Nnamdi Azikiwe refused that referendum and secession to be included in our constitution before independence.
2) Aguiyi Ironsi signed into law that made the mere mention of secession from the Federal republic would be taken as treason and treated as such. Made Nigeria central government more powerful unlike when we had strong regional governments with a weak centre.

Both are Igbos.

It was not Ojukwu that released Awolowo. Gowon became head of state August 1,1966 and released Awolowo the following day.Meanwhile, Ojukwu had been the governor of eastern region since January 1966 and did not find Awolowo worthy of release prior to Gowon ascencion.
Awolowo was a federal prisoner kept in Calabar prison.If he was released by Ojukwu without federal pardon he would have been re arrested and imprisoned on arrival in Lagos.
Below are the names of all those granted pardon by Gowon for treasonable felony,some that were confined outside the Eastern region also got their freedom
